Job Description
This role is for a world leading Pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is headquartered in the United Kingdom. The candidate is expected to work as an Engineer for a large infrastructure support and maintenance function, spanning several continents.
As a technical support Engineer in IT operations team, having working knowledge of Citrix\Windows\Virtual\Cloud Infrastructure operations. Engineer should have hands on working knowledge of supporting Hardware and software faults, build and deploying servers, handling operational issues in core platform areas such like Citrix XenApp 6.5 and 7.x, Citrix Xendesktop 7.x, Citrix PVS, MCS, Director, Edgesight, Citrix UPM and Citrix tools, Windows Servers, VMware vSphere, AWS, Azure, Azure Stack, Cisco-Flexpod, HP-C7000 etc., Engineer should have knowledge in follow ITIL framework handling Incident ticket, change control, monitoring, queue monitoring, cross platform team coordination in all the Wintel operations support team needs. Engineer should have good communication skills to meet enterprise environment support standards.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for monitoring alerts handling.
• Responsible for handling service requests.
• Responsible for diagnosing and fixing P3 & P4 end user relate incidents.
• Responsible for build and deploy servers and other infra services.
• Initial triaging, and remediation if possible, for all P1& P2 or else escalate it senior levels.
• Responsible for incident queue monitoring and management.
• Responsible for Creating & implementing Change requests.
• Responsible for fulfilment requests of standard changes (request for data, request for information, server builds, other service catalogue items)
• Responsible for creating and updating Known Error documentation.
• Enterprise Cycle Patching
Mandatory skills:
- In Depth or working Knowledge on Cloud solutions and concepts
- Experience with Service Now ITSM tool is preferred.
- Basic Operational experience with Cloud (AWS/Azure), Windows OS (Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016) and VMware (ESXi 6.x and above)
- Experience on handling Server(Blade & Rack) – UCS & HP Platforms.
- Strong knowledge in Windows Command Promt
- Experience working with enterprise monitoring tool and understanding dashboards.
- Experience on Windows sever infra and Active Directory Administration
- Installing and configuring PVS, Scheduled vDisk updates and patches.
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- ITIL Knowledge on Change, incident and problem management. Must be strong in interpersonal communication and should have handled priority issues and customer call and escalations
- Experience with using Knowledge articles and documented SOPs to resolve tickets.
- Experience working in ITIL model.
Nice to have:
- Engineering level of experience in Citrix/Wintel/VMWare and Cloud with respect to managing Incidents, Problems, changes and capacity management aspects
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization is essential.
- Good experience in Citrix Administration with both XenApp and XenDesktop with multiple sites and farms.
- Strong knowledge in design, implementation, troubleshooting of Citrix Presentation Server, XenApp and XenDesktop, provisioning services (PVS) and MCS. Should have performed Citrix upgrade and farm migration from planning through implementation.
- Publishing applications in Citrix and application virtualization using AppSense and Microsoft App-V is an advantage
- Printers Management in Citrix
- Configuring Citrix WI/SF Servers.
- Strong knowledge in configuring Roaming profiles and Streaming profile configuration
- Strong knowledge in Citrix Edge Sight and Citrix director
- Good troubleshooting skills in Citrix printers, profiles and Citrix Farm Configuration
- Citrix certification is an advantage
- Good to have experience with PowerShell, VBscript or BASH shell scripting, Python, script preferred
