Introduction to role
The SAP Senior Consultant is pivotal in ensuring the detailed operation and providing service improvements towards SAP applications. This role goes beyond support, encompassing proactive planning, incident, change, and release management. As a SAP Senior Consultant, you will chip in to the overall success of the team and the company by driving efficient collaboration and improving SAP service performance.
Accountabilities
Basic knowledge and understanding of various SAP Modules and their functionalities.
Provide 1st/2nd line support (technical queries, bug fixes, and small improvements relating to wit, SOLMAN & various SAP modules), aligning with AstraZeneca standards and change control procedures.
Troubleshoot and fix SAP L1/L2 application or configuration-related issues.
Knowledge of incident management, problem management & change management.
Hands-on experience with incident management & change management tools.
Knowledge of release management & ability to drive RGB/CAB & emergency CAB meetings with distributed team members.
Act as the contact point for all team members globally, ensuring good interpersonal skills and proactive team operations in a 24*7 environment.
Lead by example and engage the team to achieve goals.
Guarantee optimum performance and stability of critical systems, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address issues.
Take ownership of issues through to delivery or resolution or customer concern, as appropriate.
Support development activities by assisting in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment setup, change, and release management.
Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, detailing and sharing that knowledge with global teams.
Liaise with collaborators globally on potential process improvements.
Essential Skills/Experience
Higher education B.Tech/B.E. or other equivalent technical qualifications with proven capability to perform in a sophisticated IT environment
Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good business acumen
Keen to acquire new skills and work on new technology products
Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines
Evidence of designing, testing, and maintaining solutions
Experience of sharing knowledge/information and implementing any changes
Proficient in ITIL practices and processes
Good communication skills supporting joint working with geographically remote colleagues
Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and in alignment with AZ business
Logical mind with keen analytical skills
Desirable Skills/Experience
Sophisticated fix & problem-solving: Expertise in diagnosing sophisticated technical issues and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
Collaborator management experience: Demonstrable ability to handle collaborator relationships.
Hands-on experience with various applications such as Remedy/ROD/Service Now/Transparency/wit/ITSM.
Hands-on experience with any automated job scheduling tool like Automic/BPA/Control-M.
