Accountabilities:
In this laboratory-based position within Oncology Research, you will develop and optimize IHC/IF, ISH, mIF assays, digital image analysis, and other histological techniques to validate novel targets for drug development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project leaders to ensure timely generation and dissemination of critical target data. Stay up-to-date with relevant technical and scientific expertise while applying creative and innovative solutions to unique challenges.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- B.S in relevant scientific area with 5+ years research experience in Cancer biology, Immunology or other related scientific discipline, M.S in relevant scientific area with 3-5 years research experience in Cancer biology, Immunology or other related scientific discipline, Ph.D. in relevant scientific area with 0-2 years research experience in Cancer biology, Immunology or other related scientific discipline.
- Experience developing, optimizing, and validating IHC assays, either manually or on automated staining platforms using FFPE tissues (e.g. Ventana, Leica, Dako autostainers).
- Responsible for the correct operation and utilization of lab equipment, and overall state of the shared lab space.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques as they relate to project needs.
- Experience handling and staining both human and animal FFPE tissues.
- Ability to prepare precise technical summaries, protocols and all appropriate documentation of experiments in laboratory notebooks. May contribute to preparation of manuscripts and/or patent applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience establishing working relationships and credibility with collaborators in cross-functional working groups.
- Ability to approach unique challenges with a positive attitude while working in a support role.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Use of automated staining platforms for IHC, ISH/FISH, mIF, or related assays.
- Interpreting staining results in diseased and normal FFPE tissues.
- Use and broad knowledge of automated, AI-enabled image analysis.
- Familiarity with the strengths and liabilities of applying different multi-omics platforms in support of target evaluation.
- Experience working with pathologists on tissue evaluation.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $108,473.60 - 162,710.40. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
