Regional Assurance Lead

Are you ready to lead strategic compliance risk assurance across global non-commercial functions? As the Regional Assurance Lead – Data and Non-Commercial Unit, you'll be at the forefront of crafting and implementing second-line compliance assurance monitoring strategies. This pivotal role involves developing data-driven monitoring programs and collaborating with Assurance Partners worldwide to ensure alignment with global standards. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Assurance, you'll be a key member of the Global Assurance Leadership Team, driving innovation and excellence in compliance.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you'll orchestrate the development and management of an effective compliance monitoring program for non-commercial units, encompassing activities such as auditing, investigations, and assurance reporting. Collaborate with leaders and compliance business partners to set the strategic direction of the assurance program, ensuring alignment with local regulations and industry standards. As the lead for data monitoring, you'll develop a global assurance data strategy and data governance strategy, working closely with teams to improve supervising tools and build innovative digital dashboards. Essential Skills/Experience:

• Strong commercial and non-commercial experiences (e.g. R&D, Operation, data office etc.) within the pharmaceutical industry specifically compliance, law, accountancy or own specialist profession, with the majority of that experience in healthcare compliance related roles

• Previous experience designing, conducting, and documenting comprehensive internal investigations or audits related to healthcare compliance in non-commercial units, including presenting clear findings and recommendations to senior leadership or regulatory authorities.

• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate emerging compliance risks within R&D and Operations, including those related to data privacy, regulatory changes, and evolving business models.

• Engage proactively with senior leadership, business partners, and external regulatory bodies to represent the assurance function and advocate for best practices in data monitoring and compliance.

• Proven ability to leverage artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced analytics to enhance compliance monitoring, risk identification, and operational efficiency.

• Possesses comprehensive expertise in data risk and data governance structures, with the capability to design and implement effective data governance frameworks. Demonstrates proficiency in presenting insights and driving appropriate mitigation strategies.

• Demonstrated experience working in a global environment or leading the successful delivery of projects with a global scope, effectively collaborating across time zones, cultures, and diverse regulatory landscapes.

• Significant leadership experience, whether from leading high profile projects, serving as a matrix manager, or leading a team of direct reports.

• Substantial experience applying healthcare compliance principles to pharmaceutical industry practices and interpreting relevant industry codes

• The highest ethical standards, as well as an ability to operate with absolute discretion and objectivity

• Excellent analytical skill and project management skill

• Demonstrated digital savviness and experience leveraging digital solutions, advanced analytics, and new technologies (such as artificial intelligence and automation) to drive compliance effectiveness, efficiency, and innovation

• Competence in using data analytics platforms (such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools) and a track record of implementing data-driven decision-making in compliance activities

• Experience in formulating and implementing insights strategies using digital and analytical tools to identify risk, uncover trends, and proactively address key compliance challenges

• Growth mindset towards adopting and integrating evolving digital and AI-enabled solutions into daily work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High learning agility and adaptability

• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing individuals at all levels and providing constructive feedback to management when necessary

• The ability to operate independently with limited strategic direction
