Job Summary:
The S/4 Data Design Expert – Transportation Management (TM) is responsible for coordinating on all business data requirements within the related S/4 HANA programme delivery, along with providing best practice data concept proposal into the design process, defining and documenting the TM relevant S/4 Data Standards as a key output.
The role is aligned to the Enterprise Process Owner (EPO) Order & Distribution to Cash (ODTC) organization and the ODTC Data Design Lead team and supports the relationship between the S/4 Data & Analytics organization, the EPO organization and the SAP TM process configuration delivery teams, whilst proactively engaging with the wider business (including data offices and governance forums) to ensure that the SAP TM module and S/4 HANA data design meets business requirements, aligns to standard practice where possible and that related data can be used with confidence achieving a Quality Core.
The role will own and drive out the data designs for all SAP TM related data objects and attributes while supporting a subset of the core OTC SAP object designs as well. It will cover the delivery of various materials required within AstraZeneca production (primary distribution) and distribution of finished pack product from packing sites directly to customers and distribution centres (secondary distribution) as well as the accurate and timely processing and fulfilment of customer orders, billing, cash collection/application, receivables reconciliation and managing counterparty credit risk with a strong focus on leading the additional TM aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
Land SAP Transportation Management (TM) and S/4HANA target state business data standards by providing subject matter expertise into the global process design cycle, ensuring process designs align with data best practice concepts and data requirements are collected and consolidated into robust data documentations.
Land the definition, documentation and implementation of Enterprise Data standards related to SAP TM and additional Order & Distribution to Cash (ODTC) domain, including master data, reference data and metadata – confirming the business context and ensuring alignment in accordance with defined data governance. To include the development of conceptual models, business glossary and ontologies.
Apply data, process and object expertise to support the OTDC and specifically TM related process, system and integration design, acting as an integral part of the ODTC EPO design & Data teams, considering both business process and analytics requirements.
Provide TM expertise to steer and influence the future-state design considering best practice S/4 integration concepts.
Collect and share relevant as-is data structures and harmonisation assessments alongside best practice to-be Data Design proposals and feed into the Global Design process where useful.
Involvement in defining the change journey from current to future state data design including completion of change impact assessments and outline of critical use case examples.
Ensure that data within TM and broader ODTC data domain complies with the S/4 HANA Data Governance Framework and AZ Global Data Standards.
Represent Analytics team in process workshops and support the discussion, collection and design of relevant ODTC Analytics capabilities, while ensuring the underlying data standards are covering analytic specifics requirements.
Assist in the development of the Programme Data Quality Strategy and secure its execution through steering the data quality approach for data within SAP TM and broader ODTC area enabling simplified migration, interim state, and the ongoing management of data to ensure that it remains fit for purpose post deployment.
Lead and direct the prioritisation of data delivery as related to TM and broader ODTC, reporting on progress to ODTC Data Design Lead and other relevant stakeholders.
Support relationship with current business data capability to ensure that TM, S/4 design and the wider enterprise data design remain aligned (to include support of interim state).
Assist & contribute to the development of the related Cleanse and Migrate strategy and execution approaches and plans.
Support and contribute to the cleanse and enrichment approach for data across SAP TM and broader ODTC data domain in accordance with the overall data cleanse strategy.
Provide support to project data migration processes, including the co-ordination of pre and post load business sign off.
Assist the S/4 Data Governance team in the creation of effective global procedures to ensure that each data asset in the TM and broader ODTC context, is governed throughout its lifecycle.
Essential
Robust SAP TM system and data implementation and execution experience.
Demonstrable knowledge of how business data requirements support process execution and analytics, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to business users.
Experience of designing and implementing Data Standards in relevant TM and broader ODTC space for a global enterprise with significant geographical and functional footprint.
Demonstrable SAP S/4 HANA / ECC working knowledge, including an understanding of how SAP TM data integrates within an SAP architecture.
Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse, global team, within and across functions. Experience with global working and across cultures.
Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
Proven track record of delivery and ability to effectively prioritise to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved
Demonstrated project leadership skills.
Desirable
Experience and subject matter expertise in one or more Order & Distribution to Cash (O&DTC) processes such as Order 2 Invoice, Invoice to Cash, Shipping, Pricing, Contracts
SAP GTS experience
S/4 HANA implementation experience.
Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
Experience in Data Governance
Experience in measuring, managing, and improving Data Quality.
