Introduction to role
Join us as a Marketing Manager CVRM, where you will play a pivotal role in managing our marketing team and product portfolio. You will lead a team of Brand Managers and other relevant marketing colleagues, providing guidance and coaching to support their development and success in the therapy area. Reporting to the Business Unit Director BioPharmaceuticals, you will work closely with the First Line Sales Managers to achieve sales targets and manage costs effectively. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as the Business Unit Director, Medical Affairs Department, and Market Access to drive success.
Accountabilities
- Define portfolio/brand strategy and priorities, plan and propose the allocation of marketing resources, and oversee the forecasting/budgeting process in collaboration with the Business Unit Director.
- Lead and establish a team of marketing colleagues within the TA while providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure an appealing career experience for the marketing team.
- Thoroughly analyze market development and situation, providing interpretation and expertise for the TA with special attention to the competitive landscape alongside marketing plan realization.
- Coordinate and prepare brand plans and marketing campaigns in collaboration with the BUD and TA x-team.
- Plan and closely follow up on investment budget allocation in line with strategic priorities and drivers.
- Track KPIs with Sales Managers to ensure monitoring of operational plans and implementation plans for marketing campaigns, aiming to achieve planned objectives.
- Implement elements of the marketing plan for which the marketing team is directly responsible (symposia, preparation of educational and promotional content and materials, training of sales representatives, omnichannel campaigns, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Medical team to plan and implement the preparation for the launch of new brands, including market analysis and pre-launch activities.
- Engage in broader transforming care and disease awareness campaigns with representatives of Medical Affairs Department and Market Access.
- Create, maintain, and upgrade good relations with HCPs, PAGs, and all relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct monthly analyses of sales results with Sales Managers and BUD.
- Build standardized and ad hoc relevant reporting to the BUD and participate in building content for Market Reviews, global colleague visits, and budgeting purposes throughout the year.
- Plan and implement professional development activities for Marketing team members through internally and externally organized trainings.
- Ensure implementation of the full Performance Development process and individual development planning (IDP) for Marketing team members.
- Perform all business activities in accordance with the AZ Code of Ethics and relevant Policies and Standards, ensuring full compliance with corporate and EFPIA policies.
- Undertake all necessary trainings in AZ Code of Ethics and corresponding Policies and Standards in a timely manner, catalyzing the same approach for direct reports.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Strong marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry: proven track record driving brand growth preferably in cardiovascular, renal, and/or metabolic diseases, with integrated campaign execution
- Experience as a Marketing Manager or similar role: end-to-end ownership of brand strategy, planning, forecasting, and performance
- Omnichannel marketing expertise: design and optimization of multi-channel engagement (HCP and patient) including digital, field, events, and remote channels within
- Cross-functional collaboration: effective partnership with Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Patient Engagement
- Stakeholder management and influencing
- Strategic thinking and leadership: set clear direction, prioritize indications/segments, and lead teams through ambiguity in evolving guidelines and standards of care
- People management experience: coaching, performance management, and capability building for brand teams
- Analytical skills: interpret epidemiology, claims/EMR data, and market research to target patient subpopulations (e.g., HFpEF/HFrEF, CKD stages, T2D with comorbidities) and measure impact
- Fluency in English (spoken and written): strong storytelling and scientific communication
- Proficiency with PC tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): develop insights, brand plans, and executive-ready materials
- Category B driver’s license; willingness to travel: field visits, stakeholder meetings, congresses, and treatment center engagements
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- University degree in Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, or Veterinary Medicine: or related life sciences field
- Advanced marketing qualifications: e.g., MBA, CIM, or certifications in digital/omnichannel marketing
- Experience across CVRM care pathways: familiarity with heart failure, hypertension, CKD, and T2D, including comorbidity management
- Launch excellence: indication or lifecycle launches, guideline-driven adoption, and real-world evidence integration
- Market Access understanding: pricing/reimbursement dynamics, payer value messaging, and outcomes-based propositions
- Budget ownership: brand P&L management, forecasting, and ROI optimization
- Local market expertise: knowledge of CVRM treatment guidelines, referral patterns, and patient journey dynamics
- Data visualization and insight tools: proficiency with dashboards/BI tools to track performance by indication, segment, and channel
