Director, Commercial Excellence

Location Mississauga, Ontario, Kanada Jobb-id R-250917 Datum inlagd 04/24/2026

When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. In-person working gives us the platform to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That’s why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. But that doesn’t mean we’re not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual flexibility. Join us in our unique and ambitious world.

As Director, Commercial Excellence at Alexion Canada, you will set the vision, build the standards, and lead the team that drives smarter, faster, more equitable decisions across our Rare Disease portfolio. You will lead a high-performing team focused on insights, advanced analytics, Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE), and data management to inform decisions and accelerate impact across our Rare Disease portfolio. This role requires a strategic, hands‑on leader who elevates data-driven decisions, uplifts performance, and embeds a culture of measurable excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a bold Commercial Excellence vision for Canada, aligned with global and international strategies. Establish the standards, processes, and KPIs that ultimately elevate customer experience.
  • Build a high‑impact insights and analytics capability that moves from descriptive to predictive and prescriptive, translating signal into strategy and strategy into field action.
  • Optimize commercial go‑to‑market design, territory and account strategy, incentive design, and performance management to maximize field effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Champion an automation‑first mindset. Deploy AI/ML and workflow automation to accelerate decision cycles and remove manual work.
  • Own the roadmap for OneSource Patient Services Program data and Alexion CRM. Implement data governance that ensures quality, security, compliance, and interoperability—treating data as a trusted enterprise asset.
  • Lead Commercial Excellence projects for pipeline assets outside current franchises, shaping market scenarios and field planning.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a diverse, high‑performing team across Insights, Analytics, SFE, and Data Management. Embed a culture of curiosity, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science and/or business (or equivalent). Master’s in Business, Management, Data/Analytics, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years in biopharma with demonstrated strength in analytical rigor, strategy execution, and change leadership; rare disease exposure is an asset.
  • Proven experience in sales and marketing operations, SFE design, incentive planning, targeting, and omnichannel execution within pharma.
  • Hands‑on track record building insight capabilities. Familiarity with modern data stacks and visualization (e.g., SQL, Python/R fluency helpful; strong product mindset essential).
  • Passion for automation and AI as force multipliers. Experience implementing or product‑managing AI/ML solutions and embedding them into business workflows.
  • Experience overseeing CRM and patient services data, data quality frameworks, security/privacy, and compliance within regulated environments.
  • Inclusive people manager with a history of building high‑performing teams and leading transformation. Strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to challenge constructively.
  • Resourceful self‑starter with strong organizational skills and learning agility; comfortable toggling between long‑term strategy and hands‑on delivery.

At Alexion, you will find a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and a diverse environment where your contributions are valued. You will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of rare disease research and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
