You will develop and manage relationships with Freight Forwarders (FFs), Logistic Service Providers (LSPs), AstraZeneca manufacturing sites. What you’ll do
As a key member of the APAC logistics team and reporting to the Directors of Area Logistics and Distribution (Asia North), you will lead a team who oversee & execute efficient local distribution operations in Australia & New Zealand and exports from Australia. Ensuring optimal customer service, quality, cost, and delivery targets, while managing relationships with Freight Forwarders, Logistics Service Providers, and Third-Party Logistics providers.
Own delivery within big/multiple markets or large and complex distribution centre(s). The distribution centre(s) may be run in-house or outsourced to a service provider.
Responsible for the budget and setting the performance targets for the distribution centre(s)
Establish Service Level Agreements for distribution with marketing companies.
Use budgeting and planning tools to develop distribution frameworks and track delivery against plan.
Undertake management reporting via both information systems and paper-based systems.
Monitor and maintain compliance to current Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety, Health and Environment, and Sarbanes Oxley business procedures, raising and addressing problems as they arise.
Follow AstraZeneca’s financial policies, manage people resources to policy requirements, and deliver production requirements on time and budget.
Collaborate effectively with distribution leaders and excellence groups to develop continuous improvement.
Promote continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance operations and delivering performance improvements.
Communicate business plan to team and act as highest escalation point within the distribution centre to resolve any issues to delivery.
Liaise with supply directors to understand requirements and match distribution delivery structure to meet needs.
Responsible for implementing distribution changes and delivery of change projects.
Essential for the role
Personnel management
5 years minimum experience within a Supply Chain / Logistics role, preferably within the Pharma industry
Experience dealing with 3rd party warehousing and distribution
Customer Service transactional processes management
Inventory management practices
Excellent analytical skills
Good interpersonal skills – knowledge of supply chain processes and links amongst departments
Desirables for the role
Professional qualification in distribution and/or supply chain
Experience of project work under tight deadlines and service levels across different technology bases
Knowledge of GDP, GMP, GWP, and relevant Government legislation
