Accountabilities
Perform research in state-of-the-art laboratories focused on formulation and process development of biologics
Evaluate protein formulation development, characterization, and stability testing
Contribute to advancing AstraZeneca's pipeline of diverse antibody modalities
Drive innovation across a variety of scientific domains
Make in-depth experimental observations, analyze and interpret experimental results, present scientific data to internal and external audiences
Serve as a functional representative on CMC teams
Author CMC sections for regulatory filings
Essential Skills/Experience
M.S. and minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in Chemical/biochemical engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field or PH.D. in Chemical/biochemical engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 0 years of relevant industry experience.
Knowledge of antibody and/or general protein sequence and structural analysis
Experience with formulation development, biophysical characterization, and stability testing of proteins
Science-oriented, highly motivated self-starter with drive to succeed
Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership qualities, and ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills/Experience
Knowledge of stability and rheological properties of high concentration formulations
Knowledge of antibody engineering and design for desired properties like binding, stability, formulation interactions
Knowledge of delivery devices and combination products
Knowledge of Design of Experiments and statistical principles
Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as a team member within a matrix environment

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $109,301 to $163,952. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
