Introduction to the role
The Senior Data Quality Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving scalable data quality controls across global data products and shared data platforms. The role combines expertise in data quality management and analytics to ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent, and reliable for downstream analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases.
The role will contribute to the development of reusable validation frameworks, automation utilities, and scalable monitoring capabilities to enable enterprise-wide data quality management across modern cloud data platforms.
Accountabilities
Data Quality Management
Design and implement data validation and quality rules using SQL.
Build modular scripts, utilities, and reusable components to support scalable data validation and monitoring.
Data Quality Monitoring and Reporting
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, important metric scorecards, and monitoring reports to track data quality performance, issue backlogs, SLA alignment, and data health trends.
Enable business collaborators to access self-service awareness of data quality metrics.
Issue Triage and Root Cause Analysis
Lead issue investigation and root cause analysis across source systems, ingestion pipelines, and transformation layers.
Work with data engineering and upstream system teams to implement remediation and preventative controls.
Documentation and Data Governance
Maintain documentation for data quality rules, validation logic, data contracts, and benchmark definitions.
Support metadata tagging, taxonomy and ontology alignment to enable AI-ready data products, while collaborating closely with Data Product Managers, Market CoE squads, and central Data & Governance teams to ensure consistent data standards and discoverability.
Essential Skills
Education: Quantitative bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or related).
5+ years of experience in data quality management, data management systems, or data analytics roles.
Good experience implementing data quality controls, data validation rules, or data integrity monitoring frameworks.
Advanced SQL development skills including CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and performance optimization.
Experience working with distributed data processing platforms such as Databricks, Apache Spark, or PySpark.
Strong Python programming skills for automation, scripting, data processing.
Experience working with cloud data platforms such as AWS, MS-Azure, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift.
Strong documentation, communication, and collaborator collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience with data observability tools or monitoring frameworks.
Experience with validation based on metadata or data contracts.
Familiarity with enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra.
Experience working in large global organizations or regulated industries.
Exposure to pharmaceutical, healthcare, or commercial analytics datasets.
Experience with Power BI, Excel, or BI tools for data quality monitoring and reporting.
