You ensure everything runs smoothly so scientists can focus on their research.

Lab Operations Coordinator
Amsterdam Zuid Oost (near the AMC hospital)
Fulltime

You will work in our brand-new lab facility, where we have been operating for just over six months. This is a modern, well-equipped environment where you help shape how we organise and run daily lab operations.

In this role, you are closely involved in the day-to-day flow of the lab. You work alongside the Lab Manager, who sets priorities, while you take care of execution on the floor. You make sure materials, equipment, and supplies are always available, correctly stored, and easy to find.
You enjoy being active, keeping things organised, and creating structure in a busy environment. By maintaining overview and taking ownership, you ensure the lab remains a clean, efficient, and well-functioning workspace.

This role suits someone with some hands-on experience who wants to grow further in a practical role, combining logistics and laboratory work, while contributing to the development of new cell therapy treatments. This is not a step towards becoming a scientist or researcher, but a role focused on keeping the lab running smoothly.

What you’ll do:
•    Receive, check, and store incoming goods under the right conditions (ambient, refrigerated, frozen)
•    Keep stock levels up to date using a Kanban system and inventory tools
•    Handle laboratory waste, including collection, labeling, and coordination with external partners
•    Manage lab coats: collect, clean/autoclave, and restock
•    Maintain stockrooms and manage inventory of consumables, reagents, and chemicals
•    Support shipments (national and international), including temperature-sensitive materials

What do you bring?
You are hands-on, organised, and like to support others in a practical, operational role. You enjoy working in a structured environment and take responsibility for getting things done.
You have a basic understanding of how a lab operates, including safe handling and temperature-controlled storage of materials. You are familiar with basic laboratory terminology. You are familiar with laboratory terminology and realise how important it is to store materials and chemicals under the right conditions, such as specific temperatures.
You are flexible and open to change. As we are a growing organisation, the role may expand over time. We are looking for someone who is willing to grow with us and take on more when needed.

You also bring:
•    MBO|VET practical thinking level
•    At least 1 year of experience in a hands-on role within supply chain such as logistics, warehouse operations, lab support, or production
•    Experience in a structured or regulated environment (e.g. lab, pharma, food, healthcare, or logistics) is a plus
•    Strong communication skills in English
•    Comfortable working with basic systems (e.g. Outlook, Teams, or inventory systems)
•    Comfortable with physical work, such as unpacking deliveries and lifting boxes (up to ~25 kg)

Our effort is rewarded
As a Laboratory Operations Coordinator, you can expect much in return for your dedication. In addition to a competitive salary, you will enjoy:
•    An attractive bonus scheme and a 13th-month salary on top of your monthly pay.
•    Access to internal training and development programs.
•    27 vacation days, plus additional leave (such as your birthday, Good Friday, and the period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve).
•    Flexible and progressive employment benefits allowing you to tailor them to your needs (e.g., a wellness budget and the choice of a holiday calendar based on different religious beliefs).
•    A pension plan.
