Introduction to the role
We are seeking a diligent Associate – Data Quality to support the monitoring and maintenance of data quality across OBU data assets. The role focuses on executing defined data quality checks, supporting issue investigation, and maintaining data monitoring processes to ensure reliable and consistent data for business use. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, basic technical capabilities, and a willingness to learn data quality and governance practices in a complex data environment.
Accountabilities
Data Quality Setup:
Assist in profiling datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential quality issues.
Run predefined data quality checks using SQL or Databricks to monitor data completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
Support routine validation of datasets based on defined business rules.
Collaborate closely with data product owners to oversee the quality of designated data assets.
Apply Databricks or SQL tools to conduct routine assessments on data integrity.
Reporting:
Operational Reporting:
Prepare reports summarizing data quality checks, monitoring results, and identified issues.
Support creation of dashboards or reporting inputs for collaborators.
Process Documentation:
Maintain documentation of data quality checks, business rules, and monitoring procedures.
Data Issue Resolution:
Issue Identification:
Assist in identifying data discrepancies through monitoring reports and analysis.
Log and track data issues in designated tracking tools.
Investigation Support:
Support in investigating data quality issues by retrieving relevant datasets and performing preliminary analysis.
Documentation:
Maintain records of data issues, validation checks, and resolution updates..
Continuous Improvement & Learning
Support automation and improvement initiatives for recurring monitoring and reporting activities.
Essential Skills
0–3 years of experience in data analysis, data operations, or data quality roles.
Basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts.
Strong attention to detail and analytical approach.
Good problem-solving and investigative skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Desirable Skills
Exposure to SQL-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks).
Basic understanding of data quality concepts or data governance.
Experience working with dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
Exposure to cloud-based data environments.
Experience working in a global or data-driven organization.
