Associate Director, US Sales Operations and Business Insights – Rare Bone and Endocrine Disorders
This is what you will do:
The Associate Director, Sales Operations and Business Insights will play a critical role in the success of Alexion’s US business and the Commercial Operations organization. This individual will develop and lead processes that drive Commercial Insights, Business Informatics, Sales Excellence and Marketing Excellence in the US Market. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring that consistent and high-quality business operations support is provided to multiple stakeholders such as US Business Unit and Marketing Leaders. This role will participate in strategy development and be responsible for implementation of US Commercial Operations initiatives.

The Associate Director will also be involved in some Strategic projects which will build on their existing skillset and will provide opportunities for further development.
Specifically, the position will entail the following responsibilities:
- Provide support to US Commercial Operations team ensuring activities are aligned with Commercial objectives
- Conduct analysis of sales data and activity data as well as integrating data on all relevant KPIs/metrics to uncover business drivers & barriers and identify trends
- Be a Strategic Partner to the brand teams and actively participate in their brand team meetings, and integrate ways of working with commercial operations colleagues.
- Undertake analytics on sales force activity to provide insights on a regular basis.
- Assess effectiveness of targeting and effort allocation in order to make recommendations to increase effectiveness
- Play a key role in preparation of and during the Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly Business Reviews (national and subnational)
- Provide robust Sales and Marketing Insights by leveraging internal/external data sources, and AZ ChatGPT as appropriate, and providing access to this information via dashboards, reports and Marketing tools.
- Make recommendations for system changes in the CRM system to support sales and marketing activities
- Provide support and recommendations for sales force size, structure and alignments
- Collaborate and partner with Senior Leaders in the US Business Unit, Market Access and Diagnostics, Medical, Logistics, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Compliance, and Finance to support the achievement of strategies, key objectives and business needs in a compliant way.
- Provide operational and analytical support for marketing programs such as speaker programs and related marketing events.
- Facilitate a culture of planning and project management, using consistent tools and approaches and ensure that work is tracked, prioritized and resourced effectively.
- Maintain a compliant mindset to ensure all operational tasks are compliant and that appropriate analyses are performed to evaluate performance.
You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field,
- 6 years in pharmaceutical/biotech industry with commercial experience in market research, sales, sales leadership, marketing, and business operations, informatics and analytics
- Broad experience and demonstrated skills including US market experience, project management, negotiation, advanced experience in statistical analysis, excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Proven experience with CRM, alignment and analytical applications
- Experience with external data such as claims data, EMR and 3rd party practitioner data
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. We would prefer for you to have:
- MBA or advanced quantitative discipline degree
- Prior experience in rare disease
The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $147,908 to $221,862. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
