Patient Support Programs Therapeutic Area Partner
The PSP Therapeutic areaPartneris responsible fordriving the development and implementation of the international strategy for the assigned business unit, as well as for potential future line extensions, indications, and assets. This critical role will be responsible for working closely withcountry Patient Services Leads,and cross-functional teamat global and local level(e.g.medical,marketing, market access, commercial operations,patient advocacy,compliance, IT, legal, regulatory, training, medical)toset up services andimprove performancefor ongoing programsto better serve patients.
An essential element of success is a demonstrated ability to influence without authority and successfully negotiate and collaborate cross-functionally. Reporting to the Head of Patient SupportProgramsthis role is a high-profile position with the opportunity to make a major impact on patients’ lives and at Alexion, Astra Zeneca Rare Disease.
You willbe responsible for:
Leading best-in-class strategy and operating model for the assigned TAs, including launch planning for future indications and line extensions, focused on exceptional patient experience and continuous improvement
Partnering closely with Marketing, Market Access, Legal, Compliance, Quality, Drug Safety, Commercial Operations, IT, Training, third parties and vendors to ensure that patient support programs and messaging are effectively meeting the needs of patients
Focus on creating above markets solutionswhere scalability is applicable and in line with theoperatingmodel
Partner with the cross-functional team to define TA specific KPI and metrics to embed in the PSPsand drive the roll-out across the countriestodemonstratethe value of the programs.
Collaborating with local PSP teams in their TA to drive actionable recommendations and ensure effective and compliant implementation of PSP
Internally benchmarking PSP performance in their TA toidentifygaps and look for opportunities for innovation
Create communication plans for internal and external communicationto increase awareness of Alexion/AZ RDUcommitment to serve patients(above TAs)
Working closely with other members of PSPTeam toensure alignment with the overall strategy and drive department-wide optimization
Drive ad-hoc assigned strategic projectto elevateeffectiveness and efficiency of PSPs management
Always conducting work consistent with Alexion’s values,policiesand procedures
You will need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field
At least8years of experience in pharmaorcustomers’ facing roles
Thorough understanding of PSP or patient services.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships.
Understanding of compliance regulations and guidance governing PSP in International
Launch experience and/or experience in high growth areas
Rare disease/high-value biologics experience an asset
High levelof interpersonal skills and highly adept in both verbal & written communication
Fluency in English both written and oral mandatory – any other language would be an asset
We would prefer for you to have:
Advanced degree (RN, MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD, MD) preferred
