Workday Techno-Functional Analyst (HCM, Time & Absence, NA Payroll)
Join us to transform how we manage human capital. As a Workday Techno-Functional Analyst, you will define and implement solutions across Workday HCM, Time & Absence, and North America Payroll. You’ll shape architecture, governance, and integration strategies, and accelerate adoption of AI and GenAI capabilities to drive enterprise efficiency and innovation.
Key Accountabilities
- Solution Architecture: Define target architecture and configuration standards across HCM, Time & Absence, and NA Payroll. Align security, tenant strategy, and non-functional requirements with enterprise architecture and regulatory needs.
- Roadmap & Releases: Own the Workday roadmap for HCM/Time/NA Payroll and AI features. Serve as SME for bi-annual release impact assessments, regression strategy, and feature adoption plans.
- Integrations: Establish robust patterns for EIB, Core Connectors (Payroll, Benefits, Time), Workday Studio, and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Security & Compliance: Design the Security Model and SoD controls across HR, Time, and NA Payroll. Ensure compliance with GDPR, SOX, and regional payroll regulations.
- Standards & Governance: Set configuration standards, naming conventions, documentation quality, and design review processes. Approve exceptions and safeguard long-term maintainability.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with HR Services, Payroll, and Time GPOs to translate policies into scalable, compliant Workday designs.
- AI Strategy & Adoption: Lead AI initiatives for HCM/Time/NA Payroll—analyze business requirements, implement Workday-native AI features, and incorporate GenAI to streamline processes and decisioning.
- AI Integrations: Architect secure integration patterns with enterprise AI platforms, including data masking, human-in-the-loop validation, and auditability.
- Developer Enablement: Define governance for GitHub Copilot usage in Workday integrations and tooling development.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Workday Expertise: 6+ years with Workday, with deep hands-on experience in HCM Core, Time & Absence, and NA Payroll (calculation rules, earning/deduction elements, pay groups, tax updates, retro, off-cycle).
- Integrations: Proven delivery using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors (Payroll/Benefits/Time), and REST/SOAP; experience with middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, SnapLogic).
- Releases & Testing: SME for Workday release analyses, impact assessment, regression, parallel payroll testing, and defect triage.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of hire-to-retire, Time & Absence, NA Payroll, and year-end processing.
- Data Proficiency: Hands-on with data analysis, manipulation, and conversions; ability to model and configure complex data flows and workflows.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong Workday network and influence; effective communication and collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Extend & UX: Experience with Workday Extend solutions for manager/HR assistant experiences and time/pay workflows.
