SAP TAX Engine - Senior PM

Axial Programme is a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system powered by S4/Hana it will be:

  • implemented right across the organisation.
  • provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting
  • used by more than 20k employees daily.
  • transform the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.

  • You will lead and deploy technical releases with vision and agility.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams across the globe to turn our goals into reality.
  • Be the tech guru who can troubleshoot, adapt and elevate our tech game.
  • Ensure that our technology initiatives align seamlessly with our overarching strategy.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the Tax Workstream as part of a Tax engine implementation project  in conjunction with our ERP upgrade to S/4HANA (AXIAL). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Technology implementation and will be collaborating with the TAX collaborators. This role requires a proven background in project management. Experience with ERP, Tax engines and tax processes is a plus but not a must.

Focus areas include risk management and delivery of business benefit; and follow established project management standards and chip in to continued development of the project management capability.

This role will have a series of partners e.g. Technology Managers global and local as well as PMs delivering into their programme responsibility.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

·       Ability to be resourceful and self-sufficient - crafting solutions and recommendations with limited direction

·       Strong Project Management background, analytical and problem-solving abilities, communication and interpersonal skills

·       Previous experience in Tax Technology implementation and will be collaborating with multi-functional teams

·       Ability to lead discussions and make presentations in multi-functional meetings

·       Ensure full alignment with ongoing Axial project (upgrade from SAP ECC to S/4HANA)

·       IT project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and defining and executing contingency plans

·       Support in establish the governance model and schedule and prepare kick-off meetings, status calls and governance meetings

·       Communicate project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in project status update meetings

·       Proactively address challenges and obstacles that may arise during the implementation process

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in SAP ACTIVATE, traditional and agile delivery methods, including familiarity with SAFe
  • Experience of SAP release management
  • Shown project and programme leadership skills, including:
  • Setting up and leading project controls
  • Negotiating governance requirements
  • Handling and controlling project budgets and benefits delivery
  • External supplier management
  • Problem solving
  • Stakeholder management
  • Significant (typically 5+ years) demonstrable experience as a PM across the whole project lifecycle
  • Technical or business degree or relevant equivalent experience
  • Experience leading and developing project teams with a diverse blend of skills and capabilities
  • Broad understanding of IT systems and technology implemented within a business context
  • Effective communication and consulting skills to work with a diverse range of partners
  • Excellent eye for business

Desirable

  • Project / Programme Management certifications
  • TAX processes knowledge
  • Experience working in a global organization where collaborators and project team members are geographically dispersed.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience and/or experience of delivery in a highly regulated environment
  • Lean & Six Sigma Skills
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience of collaboration platforms for project delivery – e.g. Jira, PPM tools, testing tools.
