Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced SAP SOTC Functional Consultant to become a vital part of our team in a large SAP support and maintenance project, spanning multiple SAP landscapes across continents. The ideal candidate will have an extensive understanding of their domain and relevant SAP modules, alongside proven expertise in configuring and supporting SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a Senior Functional Consultant, resolving SAP issues reported by business users and delivering enhancements as required.
Complete all tasks assigned by the team lead and project manager.
Review solutions designed by team members and propose improvements.
Proactively collaborate with business users to identify and resolve recurring issues.
Understand and design EDI requirements with customers and external partners.
Own niche processes within broader domain areas, including Electronic Invoicing, Notafiscal, CFDI, and EDI interfacing with third-party systems.
Prepare functional designs, perform system configurations, and conduct relevant testing and deployment of designed business solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
In-depth functional understanding of respective work streams and expert knowledge in configuration and maintenance of SAP systems.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a functional consultant in the required capability.
Participation in more than one full SAP implementation.
Strong ability to engage business users to understand requirements and prepare high-level solutions and estimations.
Familiarity with various estimation techniques.
Skill in translating requirements into detailed functional specifications.
Essential exposure to highly customized SAP environments and interfaces with Non-SAP systems.
In-depth knowledge of EDI messaging, mapping, and translation.
Comprehensive understanding of SAP IDOCS processing, from day-to-day support to new setup project perspectives.
Collaborative communication with the ABAP development team.
At least one full implementation experience of the SD module.
Expertise in key integration points between SAP modules, particularly FI and MM.
Strong understanding of integration of SAP modules in end-to-end business processes.
Experience working in large, diverse, and globally distributed teams.
Familiarity with Run SAP (Solution Manager) methodologies.
Ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
Strong sense of ownership and high accountability.
Awareness of release governance processes and experience with incident management tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in both English and Spanish, with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
Willingness to work in shifts.
Proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in other functional SAP core modules (FI, MM, PP).
SAP certifications.
Proficiency in ABAP (debugging).
Knowledge of specific country localizations (e.g., Electronic Invoicing in LATAM, NFe).
Familiarity with SAP S/4 HANA and/or relevant certifications.
Good understanding of business processes within the life sciences/pharmaceutical domain.
Knowledge of GXP and SOX requirements, with experience in a validated environment.
