Lead Consultant (Aternity Service Engineer)

Job Purpose

The Lead Consultant (Aternity Service Engineer) will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of End User Experience Tools & Services. This will involve all aspects of planning, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of solutions, and will involve working closely with third party suppliers. The role will also be involved in providing recommendations on enhancements, monitoring the performance and support maintenance of deployed solutions. The role holder will adhere to the established AstraZeneca lifecycle methodology and practices and will be familiar with applications/infrastructure that their solutions will impact.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Develops technical expertise and shares knowledge as required with project and service teams working on the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Enterprise IT Management Tools & Systems
  • Drive a clear enablement and capability plan for administration of the technology within the service teams
  • Drive a clear enablement and capability plan across IT for driving value from the technology
  • Provides support in reviewing technical designs and ensuring adherence to the AZ Architecture Roadmap, Information Services Strategy and High Level Designs, as well as regulatory requirements and standards
  • Drives the preparation of business cases, Request for Proposals, supplier selection and evaluation of proposals
  • Drives infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with the target benefits and value expected
  • Drives the design, development, configuration and documentation of infrastructure components
  • Gathers and leverages management reporting information on existing infrastructure solutions and services
  • Performs maintenance and support activities, routine analysis and evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service levels, on call as necessary and embedding support in operations as per AZ IT strategy
  • Supports investigations of problems within existing solutions utilising ITIL principles
  • Leverages the capability to identify and propose innovative solutions to improve service performance
  • 3rd level hands on configuration, management and troubleshooting of the technology working as the technology SME
  • Vendor & platform stewardship (e.g. Riverbed ) in line with AZ standards including supplier management for the SAAS and component services of the technology

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications / experience in End User Experience Management tooling; notably the Riverbed stack
  • Evidence of designing, implementation and integration of innovative infrastructure management system and services
  • Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good business acumen
  • Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers
  • Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity of working in an international, multi-time zone support environment.
  • Good communication skills supporting joint working with geographically remote colleagues
  • Proven track record of designing, engineering, and supporting enterprise management and monitoring tooling
  • Design and develop tools/applications integration solutions
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
  • Demonstrate strong cyber security awareness in the application of service and technology management
  • Proven, excellent industry experience and ability to interact effectively and lead technology roadmaps with 3rd parties

Desirable

  • Well versed in ITIL practices and process
  • Good understanding of IT Service Management Processes
  • Background in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments
  • Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
  • Experience in working with IT Infrastructure Management Tools, APIs & Integration
  • Experience in scripting and related languages like JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, etc
  • Experience working to and with lean principles and processes for example kaizen, genba and tier metric management / six sigma
  • Experience with Observability technologies such as Splunk
