GME Project Manager

The Global Meetings and Events (GME) team, part of the Global Business Services organization, is pivotal in executing a Strategic Meetings Management Program across various units. As a GME Meeting Manager, reporting to the GME Team Leader, you will spearhead exceptional meeting and event planning services that are both cost-effective and valuable to AstraZeneca. You will have full accountability for the execution of internal and external meetings, whether face-to-face, virtual, or hybrid, collaborating with business owners and logistics partners to ensure seamless success. This role involves vendor negotiation, website oversight, attendee management, compliance, and program billing reconciliation. Accountabilities:
Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and possess strong project management skills? As a GME Meeting Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing meetings by collaborating with business meeting owners and external partners. Your role includes site recommendations, contract negotiations, budget management, catering arrangements, project plan creation, attendee management, travel coordination, event agenda development, and on-site support. You will understand AstraZeneca's business priorities and culture while ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. Your ability to communicate across all organizational levels and time zones is crucial. You will source virtual meeting formats, identify cost-saving opportunities, manage compliance processes, contribute to the GME team, and establish collaborative relationships with vendors and stakeholders. Are you ready to travel up to 30% to support off-site events?

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Experience with large meeting and events planning (100+ attendees)
• Demonstrated financial/budget proficiency
• Have a compliance mind-set with strong focus on adherence to industry guidelines, company policies and financial transparency
• Proven ability to act independently and be resourceful in approach to problem solving
• Strong communications, negotiation and influencing skills; ability to lead to desired outcomes
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) 
• Ability to travel by airplane, boat, rail and/or car, when required (up to 30%)

Desirable Skills/Experience:
• College Degree
• Pharmaceutical meeting planning experience
• Experience with meeting industry technology a plus (CVENT)
• Certified Meeting Planning or Certified Meeting Management Certification
• 5+ Years in Meeting management and/or Travel industry experience
• 5+ Years Project Management experience
