Job Description
The External Supply Coordinator is responsible for translation of the supply plan passed into ESM from GSC&S into an agreed supply schedule. They are the primary AZ representative managing execution of the external operational plan. With the support of Operations Leads, AZ assigned functional representatives & external suppliers they oversee resolution of short terms issues impacting supply and ensure planning systems remain aligned.
Via weekly S&OE they provide the critical routine collaborate with the GSC&S Network Supply Team, handling communication related to supply & demand events and associated remediation actions, ensuring alignment of messaging between the two functions.
As a core member of the External Operations Team, they provide input to the team on short term operational issues, maintain supply performance metrics and bring together capacity data and associated intelligence to support GSC&S planning.
Working alongside the External Operations Leads & Managers as a key representative of AZ within the external network they support in handling relationships in the global, fast paced environment. The role requires proficient communication & cultural awareness in addition to being an intuitive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for the receipt & translation of monthly net requirements plan from GSC&S into an optimised supply schedule from the external supply node(s).
- Creation & maintenance of supplier purchase orders.
- Leads regular meetings with the external suppliers to handle the operational supply plan.
- Handles execution of the supply schedule coordinating flow from supply into the next node (both internal & external) and completes receipts to maintain system alignment.
- Supervises inventory levels across both the internal and external network to ensure target & contractual inventory policies are adhered to.
- Coordinates the resolution of short-term supply issues engaging AZ Technical & Quality teams and external supply resources as required.
- Brings up supply events as required for awareness and support of the External Operations Lead.
- Collaborate with the Network Supply Team in Global Supply Chain to provide supply updates, including details of supply events and ongoing actions to support resolution.
- With oversight from the Operations Lead/Manager collects & maintains capacity data from the supplier to facilitate development of achievable plans by the Network Supply Team.
- Collects data and populates key performance metrics.
- Overseas timely invoice payment in line with commercial terms through flawless transactional execution and routine monitoring of the invoice ledger for their given portfolio.
- Responsible for the accurate maintenance of systems master data.
- Supports project execution through the coordination of tactical changes with the supplier via the routine supply meetings.
- Supports the External Operations Leads by providing input for key external facing meetings (S&OP, BRM, SLM).
- Provides cover for the External Operations Lead in key governance meetings as required.
- Chips in to Risk Management & Continuous Improvement through the identification and partner concern of risks & opportunities across their portfolio.
- Maintains SOx compliance, i.e. ensuring all stock audits, stock reconciliations and account management controls are completed accurately, ensuring transactional activities are carried out in line with DoA and with Segregation of Duty principles.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is helpful, equivalent experience will be considered.
- Prior experience in Supply Chain Environment (Manufacturing, Planning)
- Digital savvy (data & system minded)
- Excellent communications and teamwork skills required to handle a multitude of customers and collaborators, both internal and external to AZ.
- Commercially aware.
- Globally and culturally aware
- Confident engaging with collaborators at all levels
Desirable
- Understanding of and chipping in to an S&OP process.
- Commercial experience
- Operational Experience with ERP/APS systems
- Capacity Planning
- Understanding of supply chain planning parameters, master data and master data integrity & quality.
- Experience in handling and developing solutions for supply chain events.
