AstraZeneca's strategy in Cardiovascular Renal Metabolic (CVRM) focuses on ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular (CV) disease, life-threatening bleeds, diabetes and chronic kidney-disease indications. The patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led life-cycle management programs and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods.
As a Regional Customer Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. Regional Customer Directors (RCDs) support the baxdrostatbrand team & other partners across a region to identify & develop current/future External Scientific Experts (ESE) for activities based on Commercial Value to drive greater engagement & advocacy forbaxdrostatand AZ in the CVRM Therapeutic Area.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Capture national insights to inform strategy
Thought Leader Engagement, Advocacy Development, and Special Therapeutic Area aligned initiatives with Hypertension Centers of Excellence (CoE)
Responsible for quality, breadth & depth of hypertension specialists and other Commercial ESE relationships at region level
Identification & development of future commercial ESE/influencers (up and comers)
Facilitate strategic engagements with ESEs at Region level with leadership
Link, leverage and expand AZs partner relationships with ESEs, hypertension specialists & patient advocacy improving disease state understanding and patient care.
Develop commercial ESE Engagement plans & keep updated profiles for targeted customers
Communicate and collaborate with internal partners: Sales, Brand Team, and Medical Affairs
Establish AZ as a leader in hypertension at local/regional congresses and conferences

Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required
7+ years’ work experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry
Minimum of 5 or more years work experience in one or more of the following: field sales, sales management, marketing, or clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area
Proven track record of consistent achievement or overachievement in assigned responsibilities, goals, objectives and any other relevant metrics
Previous experience building, implementing & seamless execution of action plans, programs and related activities
Proven track record of appropriate close cross functional teamwork
Desirable Requirements
Previous experience in multiple commercial functions (Sales, District Sales Manager, Brand Team, Maps) is a plus
Previous commercial role experience in cardiovascular disease
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $180,800- $271,300. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
