Field Reimbursement Manager, US Market Access, Metabolics, Northeast
INTRODUCTION TO ROLE:

As a Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) for Alexion’s Metabolics portfolio, you will manage accounts in the Northeast region, focusing on providing access and reimbursement education to healthcare providers (HCP) office personnel. Your role will involve minimizing barriers to therapy by educating on medical policies, coding and billing, product access via buy-bill or specialty pharmacy, and site of care options. You will also support HCPs reactively by providing guidance on prior authorization denials and post-service reimbursement issues. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with Alexion cross-functional partners on overall account and territory strategy to maximize internal/external customer knowledge on payor policy and processes
- Be a subject matter expert on the reimbursement/access landscape, including payer policies, prior authorization requirements, denials, appeals, peer-to-peer education
- Build short-term & long-term strategic account plans focused on increasing customers' knowledge for key accounts
- Collaborate with Alexion One Source Patient Services on individual case management needs related to HCP education on reimbursement issues
- Leverage all available resources including internal data to develop and execute account plans/call purpose
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing Alexion activities
- Manage annual budget allocation within the respective territory
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with buy and bill and/or specialty pharmacy networks
- Understanding of access process from Rx to infusion/injection
- Experience with products that require prior authorization and clear understanding of related billing, coding, and in-office support
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, inside and outside of the company
- Ability to educate physicians and other healthcare professionals with confidence and expertise in an office procedural environment
- Strong rapport building and active listening skills
- Problem solver with a sense of urgency!
- Demonstrated technical skill, proficiency in using iPad and working proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in a field environment. TRAVEL AND ROLE RELATED AREAS:
- Ability to travel up to 75% to work-related meetings, functions and overnight for 2-3 nights per week
- Ability to drive to assigned targets within the territory using company provided EV Fleet vehicle.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel regionally and cover large multi-state territories
- Must reside in the region (NY, NJ, MA, CT, RI, VT, ME, NH)
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Rare disease experience
- 3+ years of field reimbursement experience
- Understanding of the top payers within the assigned geography
- Experience in launching a new specialty pharmaceutical/biologic product or new product indication
- Experience working through complex reimbursement issues
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $144,430.40 to $216,645.60 USD. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
