Executive Medical Director Cell Therapy
Typical Accountabilities
- Represents the clinical function at Global Project Team (GPT) level
- Accountable for the overall clinical, scientific and value content within the Clinical Project Team (CPT)
- When applicable, leads global projects in Oncology Cell Therapy
- Inputs significantly to the Physician strategy
- Provides input to the global clinical development strategy from a Physician perspective
- Leads, guides, evaluates and develops the team within own area of Physicians/Clinical Scientists to ensure that the area achieves its objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws
- Leads or oversees a diverse range of initiatives to improve quality, integrity of information interpretation, cost or time and where appropriate lead the development of new methodology or process to provide business benefit
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Medical degree
- Professional qualification in Oncology and/or Hematology (Pediatric Onco-hematology allowed)
- Relevant experience in the field of cell and gene therapy of cancer
- 5 years or more experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector (in the absence, significantly longer experience in the academic setting)
- Proven leadership promoting, motivating and empowering others to accomplish individual, team and organizational objectives
- Significant understanding of the overall drug development and commercialisation process
- Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global environment
- Experience leading and developing a team and working in a global environment
- Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking
- Ability to influence strategically and persuade tactfully, to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organizational relationships
Desirable
- PhD in a scientific discipline related to immunology, oncology and/or gene therapy · Expert reputation within the business and industry
- Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory developments
- Operational expertise in risk management and contingency planning
- Familiarity with the latest research and thinking
- Effective problem and conflict resolution skills and proven team focus
