The Quality organisation in Södertälje consists of around 700 employees. We are working in Analytical and Microbiological labs as well as in Quality Assurance teams closely together with our manufacturing and distribution teams. Operating in over 25 locations we are truly global – connecting and aligning to drive one way of working across our network.

We are now seeking a Site Quality Lead to lead the Quality Function across Sweden Biologics Manufacturing Center, Sweden Operations Sterile Manufacturing and the Microbiology teams in Sweden. The role reports directly to VP Head of Quality EMEA & Sweden.

This role is about building, leading, and motivating quality teams - and growing the professional and leadership capabilities of others through coaching and tailored development plans.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You have the accountability for your function’s performance in terms of employee safety and health, quality, supply, and budget as well as ensuring delivery according to required standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and AstraZeneca’s corporate requirements. Driving performance improvements will be a key focus area.

You’ll determine resource needs, manage risk, and develop and monitor budgets across the function, while spearheading skill-building interventions to uplift organizational capability.

You’ll explore and implement technology adoption opportunities, lead quality initiatives, and drive transformation and improvement programs that elevate compliance, productivity, and performance.

You’ll collaborate closely with site and regional leaders to align priorities and strategy, and you’ll manage trusted relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure readiness and resolve issues.

You are a strategic link into AstraZeneca’s Global Quality Network—driving consistency, elevating performance, and safeguarding patient trust.

Essential Requirements

  • Master´s degree in science in Pharmacy, Biochemistry or Chemistry.

  • Extensive leadership experience with experience in multiple areas of quality delivery within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with regulatory/SOP/GxP requirements and driving compliance across teams.

  • Experience of delivering results in a complex environment.

  • Experience planning and managing budgets.

  • Experience of working in a global environment.

  • Experience in co-working with cross-functional global leadership.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience from change management initiatives.

  • Proven skills in creating, developing teams and strategic processes as well as being able to act agile and to be comfortable making decisions, sometimes with limited information.

  • Fluent in both Swedish and English.
