Manufacturing Science and Technology, Process Technical Lead
Typical Accountabilities:• Takes responsibility for the technical evaluation and establishment of manufacturing processes, analytical procedures and packaging capability for specified products within the AstraZeneca portfolio• Collaborates to develop technical strategy document for each assigned product, outlining technical improvement plan for the particular brand• Assess the likely success and benefits of technologies and gains support and commitment to these opportunities from senior management• Develops creative and efficient methods of pursuing and executing programmes to successful implementation• Recognises where there are gaps between business needs and known and emerging technologies and participates in the development of strategies to close technology gaps• Takes on Project Manager role for externally facing complex and technically challenging projects• Provides technical direction and governance across the project management network• Agrees the technical scope of projects with project managers and leads the co-ordination and integration of this throughout the project lifecycle• Provides rapid expert technical support to manufacturing sites in region in response to potential product recalls and unexpected information• Ensures effective collaboration with the AstraZeneca sites and customers in the region and with the other members of the global group• Builds effective networks across the global operations organisation, pharmaceutical development, and international regulatory affairsTypical People Management Responsibility (direct / indirect reports):• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 5• Manager of a teamWhat is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?):• Own countryEducation, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:• Essential: University degree; Experience in manufacturing or packaging environment Ability to communicate, manage people and projects and lead and coach in a multinational environment; Project management skills; Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice, Safety, Health and Environment, and Lean manufacturing• Desirable: Knowledge of pharmaceutical productionKey Relationship to reach solutions:• Internal (to AZ or team): Internal regulatory groups; Quality assurance function; Planning and purchasing departments; Central project groups; Process Execution Team; Other AstraZeneca sites• External (to AZ): Regulatory agencies; External suppliers
