Associate Director, Data Insights Procurement - Technology & Insights Procurement

In this role, you will shape how data informs strategy and execution across our procurement landscape. You will join a forward‑looking team accelerating the shift from operational work to a dynamic mix of strategy, insights, and delivery—optimising partnerships across the value chain so our science reaches patients reliably and efficiently.

Working at the intersection of analytics and business impact, you will build the models, dashboards, and external data intelligence that illuminate performance, unlock savings, and drive resilience. Your work will help colleagues act faster, negotiate smarter, and continuously improve outcomes where it matters most.

Accountabilities:

  • Business Partner with Procurement Category Leadership teams.
  • Insight Collaboration: Partner across the insights team to pinpoint competitive, actionable insights spanning regions and categories, ensuring decisions are grounded in robust evidence.
  • Procurement Analytics Enablement: Partner with category teams to deliver analytics for complex RFPs, provide data‑driven negotiation preparation, and design scalable, sustainable cost models that accelerate value.
  • Diagnostic and Predictive Modeling: Design, develop, and implement diagnostic and predictive data models, including validation checks, transformation and harmonization, and creation of views that expose the right signals to the right stakeholders.
  • Performance Enablement: Co-create and test analytics models with functional partners to increase visibility, benchmark performance, and enable continuous improvement across sourcing, supplier management, and risk.
  • External Data and Scouting: Leverage external datasets to surface new insights for the organization and proactively scout novel sources that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Visualization and Real-Time Performance: Build dashboards that allow interrogation and manipulation of data, enabling real-time monitoring and course correction.
  • Information Stewardship: Ensure the utilization and value realization of information resources and services, promoting standards, adoption, and trusted data across the enterprise.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in analysing complex data sets to identify trends, performance, and efficiency improvements
  • Hands-on experience in manipulating large datasets & extrapolating insights
  • Advanced ability to draw conclusions from data and present them in a succinct fashion to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption of insights across functions
  • Experience with BI platform (preferably — Power BI)
  • Proficiency in databases and data integration techniques - SQL, ETL tools
  • Proven experience in working with colleagues in a global environment and engaging with them to understand their analytical needs and build a pipeline of analytical requirements
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good command of English both written and spoken

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in procurement analytics or commercial analytics within a complex, global environment
  • Strong hands-on skills in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R), plus familiarity with cloud data platforms
  • Experience integrating external market intelligence, benchmarks, and risk signals into models and dashboards
  • Background in predictive modeling, forecasting, and experiment design to quantify impact and guide decisions
  • Exposure to regulated industries or life sciences, with understanding of supply risk, compliance, and sustainability metrics
