Content Strategist, Medical Communications & Information – Oncology Business Unit

Are you ready to turn complex oncology science into clear, credible communications that help clinicians make confident decisions for patients? In this Lisbon-based hybrid role, you will shape the scientific narrative for our oncology portfolio, connecting evidence to need, and bringing speed, rigor, and clarity to how we inform healthcare professionals and internal partners.

You will be part of a high-performing medical communications and information team that partners closely with global stakeholders to plan, create, and maintain scientific content across channels. From launches and congresses to day-to-day medical information, your work will combine scientific depth with digital and AI-enabled approaches to improve quality, accelerate delivery, and ensure compliance. How will you drive content strategies that scale impact across brands and geographies while maintaining scientific integrity and customer focus?

Accountabilities:- Scientific Content Leadership: Drive high-quality medical information and scientific communications delivery while championing operational excellence and digital innovation to increase quality, speed, and scalability.- Launch and Congress Excellence: Lead and support development of launch and congress deliverables in close coordination with Medical Affairs and cross-functional partners, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant outputs.- Digital and AI Enablement: Leverage AI and digital capabilities to enhance content planning, development, and maintenance across formats and channels.- Oncology Narrative Stewardship: Align deliverables to oncologic principles, scientific narratives, Core Communication Points, and Medical Affairs priorities to ensure coherent, evidence-led storytelling.- Messaging and Review: Translate complex science into clear, compelling, and scientifically balanced messaging; conduct medical accuracy review and ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and medical standards.- Therapeutic Area Operations: Own day-to-day operations for assigned therapeutic areas, proactively address execution challenges, and escalate to leadership when needed.- HCP Engagement: Curate and communicate medical content that engages HCPs and delivers timely, high-quality medical information.- Insight Generation: Identify, analyze, and report medical and scientific insights and trends to inform strategy, content needs, and stakeholder decision-making.- Cross-Functional Partnership: Ensure clear, proactive communication with GMA/USMA, local markets, MedEx functions, and key stakeholders including Promotional/Regulatory Affairs, Managed Markets, Outcomes Research, Patient Affairs, and Sales/Training.- External Submissions: Coordinate and/or contribute to submissions to external drug information resources and evidence-based practice centers; consult with Regulatory/Labeling committees and Publications on brand publications; lead or contribute to the compendia submission process where applicable.- Content Planning and Systems Integration: Own the development and maintenance of content plans with integration into iMAP for visibility, governance, and execution tracking.- Quality Management and Governance: Ensure version control and governance across MCI deliverables; drive standard methodologies and continuous improvement via feedback and aligned KPIs and metrics.- Scientific Meetings Support: Provide staffing support and coordination for scientific meetings and MCI booth activities to ensure high-quality customer engagement and information delivery.- Landscape Awareness: Stay current with therapeutic area developments, regulatory and compliance trends, and evolving communications needs to continuously refine content strategy.

Essential Skills/Experience:- Advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience (PharmD preferred, MD, PhD, or equivalent)- A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant scientific communications/medical information in pharmaceutical industry or comparable experience within the healthcare/clinical/hospital or medical communications environment- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, project management, and organizational skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Clinical and healthcare systems expertise- Ability to apply local regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements to Medical Affairs activities and scientific communications delivery- Scientific literature evaluation and analysis- Scientific/medical writing, communication, and content creation (e.g. MIRs, SRs, chatbot conversations)- Proficiency in using technology/platforms- Medical accuracy review

Desirable Skills/Experience:- Experience in Line Management, including mentoring and coaching team members highly desired- Experience developing digital content and/or digital content strategy highly desired
