Packaging Specialist

Accountabilities:

• Implement packaging activities for all products as assigned
• Collaborate with the Process Facilitator and Coordinator to meet department priorities
• Adhere to GMP procedures for product packaging specifications
• Assign packaging operators according to visual staffing plans
• Maintain line operation by understanding daily packaging schedules
• Support packaging line performance and call out issues as needed
• Ensure compliance with standard work packages using line management initiatives
• Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues
• Perform special assignments and assist co-workers with problem-solving
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of packaging operations processes and procedures
• Complete required batch documentation and resolve issues
• Participate in the design, development, or modification of area-specific processes or procedures
• Complete assignments requiring judgment, initiative, innovation, and leadership in troubleshooting and continuous improvement recommendations
• Demonstrate knowledge of supply chain management processes related to packaging operations
• Complete system-based transactions as required
• Conduct training activities for operators to fulfill on-the-job training requirements
• Work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Facilities, Engineering, Materials Management, and other business units
• Work shifts and overtime as required.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or Associate Science Degree.
• 0-2 years of cGMP manufacturing experience

• Team Lead and/or Training experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures and manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and status updates.
• Ability to speak effectually before groups of customers or other employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
• Ability to resolve practical problems in situations where only limited information is available.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications. SAP experience is preferred.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree is a strong plus.
