The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine. Our product is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia has about 140 full-time employees and the Bensalem storage and distribution facility has about 5 employees. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is sold in the US, UK, and other countries. Operations continue year-round, with the production season being in the summer (typically May – August). Our site is highly collaborative where we show our Philly pride in all we do. Accountabilities

The Maintenance Technician is a position reporting to a Process Execution Team Maintenance Facilitator, which supports a combination of the Formulation Filling, Packaging or Facilities Departments. The position entails providing technical/operational support, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance for all equipment used in the production processes in various classified areas from unclassified up to a Grade A aseptic environment. All work will adhere to established equipment procedures, SOPs, and cGMPs. The position will operate and maintain general manufacturing, packaging, and facility equipment. It requires the ability to perform mechanical and electronic troubleshooting to ensure efficient operation of equipment via OEE.

The Maintenance Mechanic will provide mechanical training to Production Technicians as required, be knowledgeable and hands-on expert who is qualified to set-up, operate, troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance activities on key Formulation Fill, Packaging and supporting utility equipment. This position will serve as a resource for the implementation of continuous improvement, new equipment and existing equipment upgrade projects. Minimal supervisory attention is required for this level of employee.

Schedule: Core Hours: November to January this role will work 1st shift from 6 am to 4:15 pm; February to October during production the work schedule will be on 2nd shift 3:45 pm to 2:15 am.

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, repair and perform line turnarounds, general and preventative maintenance work on production and supporting utility equipment per established procedures in a timely and efficient manner. Complete documentation and required functions in the work order system to close out activities in compliance with cGMPs.

• Perform batch record and GMP documentation entries as the need arises. Maintain records and/or logs as the need arises in performance of job responsibilities.

• Work with minimal supervision under the direction of the Maintenance Facilitator.

• Use a variety of testing tools and measuring equipment in the efficient maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic, environmental monitoring, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical line equipment.

• Set-up equipment and perform required adjustments to ensure each operation is performing per process specifications. Provide training to technicians for equipment set-up and for minor adjustments or repairs.

• Regularly interface with operations employees as well as outside vendors to develop and oversee equipment service contracts.

Essential Skills/Experience

• High school graduate, vocational school graduate or equivalent (GED)

• 5-7 years experience in a packaging environment casepacker, denester, labeling systems.

• Minimum of 7 years mechanical, troubleshooting and repair experience in production, manufacturing industry is required

• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Overtime will be required with prior notice to support business needs. Emergency overtime may be required with little notice to ensure operation of equipment within the Process Execution Team (PET).

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Pharmaceutical experience

• Technical School or Trade Certification.

• Apprenticeship in a formal (trade mechanical).

• Engineering/Automation background

• Systech/SAP experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $63,840 ($30.69 per hour) to $95,760 ($46.04 per hour). However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
