Field Market Access Manager
Do you have expertise in, and passion for developing and implementing Market Access strategy? Would you like to apply your expertise to impact in a company that follows the science and turns ideas into life changing medicines? Then AstraZeneca might be the one for you!
About AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
Our Market Access team plays a crucial role in making sure the hard work across AstraZeneca is realised – ensuring access and affordability to those who need it the most.
We’re connectors, bringing together the healthcare ecosystem through our negotiating and storytelling as we articulate the strong and innovative value story of our science-led medicines. By bringing our innovative products to market, we’re helping to build a world-class reputation and, most importantly, serve our patients sustainably.
As a Field Market Access Manager in AstraZeneca, you will drive sustainable access and uptake of AstraZeneca therapies across the Ministry of Health (MOH) system, expanding formulary inclusion, funding pathways, and utilization at national, state, and hospital levels.
What you’ll do
Stakeholder engagement: Build trusted relationships with MOH decision-makers, state health directors, hospital administrators, pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T) committees, clinical KOLs, and procurement units to shape access decisions and pathways.
Access strategy execution: Translate national access strategies into field action plans targeting MOH institutions; prioritize high-impact accounts, indications, and pathways (formularies, tenders, pilot programs, EPU procurement, APPL listings, etc.).
Policy and pathway navigation: Monitor MOH policies, budget cycles, HTA processes, and guideline updates; identify opportunities to align AZ value propositions with MOH priorities (NCD burden reduction, outcomes-based care, cost containment).
Value communication: Deliver tailored value propositions (clinical, economic, and population-health) using local data, burden-of-disease evidence, and budget impact models to support formulary inclusion and funding.
Cross-functional leadership: Partner with Medical, HEOR, Government Affairs & Policy, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Compliance to ensure coherent access plans, evidence generation, and reliable supply for MOH accounts.
Tender and contracting support: Coordinate tender readiness, pricing scenarios (within governance), and contracting terms; track tender timelines and stakeholder requirements to secure sustainable awards.
Evidence and real-world outcomes: Facilitate outcome studies, registries, and implementation pilots in MOH settings; leverage results to support renewals, listing expansions, and guideline inclusion.
Account management: Develop and maintain account plans for priority MOH hospitals and state clusters; set clear objectives, milestones, and risk mitigations; report progress and insights.
Training and enablement: Equip field teams and distributor partners with MOH access narratives, objection handling, and compliance standards; ensure consistent messaging and materials usage.
Compliance and governance: Uphold AZ standards, local regulations, and ethical engagement principles across all interactions and materials.
Key competencies for the role:
Strategic account planning: Ability to segment MOH accounts and tailor access levers for each.
HEOR literacy: Comfort with cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and outcomes metrics.
Policy acumen: Awareness of MOH priorities, budget cycles, and regulatory constraints.
Collaboration: Effective cross-functional coordination and matrix influence.
Execution discipline: Strong follow-through, pipeline visibility, and issue escalation.
Ethics and compliance: Consistent application of AZ standards.
