Digital Engineer

The Digital Engineer is responsible for applying appropriate digital tools to develop digital use cases as per business requirements. Based upon a strong understanding of AZ NWK manufacturing and supply chain processes, the role will look for innovative ways to lean out processes and implement digital solutions.   

The role will be heavily involved in Advanced analytics to support site for data and system integration to enable site manufacturing digital transformation.   

The role will support site digital capability uplift in application of Power BI, Power Apps, Tulip and other programing tools, through facilitating training, project learning and practices sharing in site digital network.  

To be successful in this role will require excellent technical skills, an understanding of the AZ manufacturing and supply chain processes, and strong communication skills.  Being able to effectively challenge, influence and negotiate will be critical. This should be paired with a leadership attitude, lean thinking, and organizational change expertise.

The following summarize key result areas, specific accountabilities and/or tasks, etc. associated with this job title: 

 Operational 

  • Work closely with digital project managers, data analyst, and data scientist to develop and implement site digital use cases  
  • Applying BI tools to develop factory dashboard as per business requirements 
  • Support site digital projects, applying low code system like Power Apps, Tulip or other digital tools to develop digital use cases  
  • Work closely with Lean team to support the performance analytic report  
  • Support the implementation of site analytic driven use cases 
  • Structure site digital platform 
  • Standardize site digital platform to form site structure 
  • Master digital tools and conduct complexity development 
  • Coordinate digital skill and tools deployment 
  • Innovate digital system and tools for business performance improvement 
  • Participate and partner in local forums for digitalization and promote knowledge transfer 
  • Partnering with IT to deliver projects into Operations that ensure agile ways of working 
  • Ensure standardised technologies & processes are adopted 
  • Influence local team members on priorities & resource commitments 
  • Support LoCO NoCo solution development and solving. 
  • Support PETs / functions in their digitalization strategy and ensure alignment to NWK OPS strategic plans for digitalization 
  • Conduct business benefit analysis on potential digital projects 

Quality 

  • Performs work in compliance with GMPs, site policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
  • Immediately reports quality-related issues that have the potential to impact product launch and/or transfer. 

Safety 

  • Maintains a safe work environment by following all Health and Safety policies and procedures; immediately reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervision. 
  • Uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. 
  • Aligns with AZ SHE policies/Maintains safety conditions in the area and function occupied/ Respects SHE signalling and recommendations/Aligns with the trainings which is summoned to/Follows SHE procedures/Participates annually in the Building Evacuation Plan training. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering (Computer Science, Automation or other related science) 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, data engineering, data analytics or data science 
  • Work experience in a manufacturing industry with proven experience of successfully creating and deploying a variety of digital solutions to enable business change  
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies including process mapping, problem solving and continuous improvement 
  • Strong engagement, communication and customer management skills, including excellent presentation and influencing skills  
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment  
  • Experience of virtual collaboration to lead, shape and develop innovative solutions  
  • Ability to challenge, negotiation and influence

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • High proficiency in Tulip, Power BI, Power Apps or other similar digital applications in advanced data analytics 
  • Familiar with programming language 
  • Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context  
  • Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge  
  • Broad understanding of Supply Chain processes and systems 
  • Manufacturing knowledge 
  • Supply Chain knowledge
