The Product Engineering organization consists of several self-organized/managed cross-functional global teams with the people and skills needed to deliver our innovative digital products and solutions to patients and healthcare providers participating in clinical trials around the world. We are working with agile methodology delivering a new validated release of the software product consisting of web portals, mobile apps and backend services with program increments every quarter.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager to lead and evolve our testing strategy, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance across our software products. As part of our engineering leadership team, you will have the opportunity to shape testing practices, mentor QA engineers, and work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional solutions. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Key responsibilities include

  • Define and implement the overall test strategy, frameworks, and tools
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA/test engineers
  • Drive automation-first approaches while balancing exploratory and manual testing
  • Lead end-to-end testing and test validation of the products
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate quality practices throughout the SDLC
  • Establish KPIs and ensure continuous improvement in test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Manage risk assessments and support release readiness decisions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is essential. Additional certifications in software testing (such as ISTQB, CSTE, or similar) are highly valued.
  • Experience in Test Management: Proven experience as a test manager, QA lead, or similar senior testing role in a multinational environment. Having managed testing activities for web and mobile applications is required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of web technologies, backend and frontend architectures, mobile app frameworks, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and modern development practices such as CI/CD.
  • Test Strategy and Methodology Expertise: Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, test strategy development, risk-based testing, test automation frameworks, and lifecycle management. Ability to design, implement, and optimize manual and automated testing processes for both web and mobile platforms.
  • Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Experience managing geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams across different cultures and time zones. Proficiency in conflict resolution, coaching, performance management, and upskilling staff in testing best practices.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, track, and report on testing deliverables across multiple concurrent projects. Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other iterative project management methodologies is required.
  • Quality Assurance Tools: Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray), defect tracking systems, test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Maestro), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proven track record in identifying, documenting, and mitigating risks and issues within testing cycles, particularly in complex, regulated environments. Consistent ability to maintain compliance and deliver high-quality software.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with business stakeholders, developers and product managers. Ability to report findings clearly, influence decisions, and drive continuous improvement across teams.
  • Language and Multicultural Competence: Proficient in business English, both written and verbal; additional language skills are a plus. Familiarity working in multicultural and geographically distributed teams is an advantage.

Desired Qualifications

  • GxP and Regulatory Compliance Experience: Demonstrated understanding and practical experience implementing GxP (Good Practice) guidelines within IT projects. Prior involvement in regulated environments—such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences
  • Frontend and backend technology and frameworks e.g. React, Angular or Vue.js, React Native, AWS, Node.js, Java, Javascript/Typescript
