Introduction to the role:

This role partners closely with the HR Business Partnering team and Employee Relations to deliver high-visibility HR projects and milestones.  Under the strategic thought leadership of the HRBP, they will play a key role in the in-role promotion cycles process and support the coordination of  team reorganizations, talent reviews, and succession sessions with focused and crisp execution. In collaboration with ER and HRBPs, this role leads the front end of performance management, equipping managers with standardized tools, tracking progress, and aligning timely escalations with Employee Relations.

As the HR data and analytics SME, the role works with HR leadership to design early-signal KPI monitoring and perform complex analyses to advise local priorities and/or deliver on regional and global analyses or validation tasks. It also partners with Policy and Job Description owners as the coordination lead to draft or update as vital

Accountabilities:

- In-Role Promotion Operations: Independently lead and run end-to-end in-role promotion processes across functions, action all resulting changes, and ensure a consistent, timely, and compliant experience across the enterprise.

- Organizational Design and Change Support: Partner with HRBPs to deliver organizational shifts and re-orgs by drafting job descriptions, coordinating run-of-play and partner meetings, creating manager-ready templates, and supporting outplacement where needed.

- Performance Management Enablement: Guide the early stages of action plans with managers and HRBPs by providing templates, assessing progress and timing, planning next steps, and triggering critical issues to Employee Relations when appropriate; support ER with key employee notifications.

- HR Data and Analytics Leadership: Build critical tracking and early-signal KPI monitoring, perform sophisticated HR data analysis for local, regional, or global needs, and translate insights into decisions that reduce risk and improve outcomes.

- HR Policies: Maintain HR-owned policies in good order, initiate updates when external or global changes occur, and facilitate SME-led drafting and approvals to keep our guidance current and clear.

- Project Leadership and Continuous Improvement: Lead aspects of priority HR projects as needed, streamline processes, and standardize documentation to scale best practices across the local HR team.

Crucial Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of HR experience
  • Significant detail orientation and executional perfection in delivering projects and tasks
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to liaise across HR locally and able to influence 
  • Good working knowledge or Employee Relations, the Employment Standards Act and has experience applying it in an HR team
  • High focus on delivery
  • Proven agility in a matrixed structure
  • Passion to create value through use of data, analytics and HR KPIs, demonstrated savvy
  • Exceptional execution/organizational skills
  • Thinks strategically and end-to-end on projects
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • HR systems and data management knowledge and expertise – Workday, Power BI, eightfold
  • Fluency in French is a key asset
  • Prior experience as a Generalist or HRBP
  • Breadth of employment settings ie manufacturing/office ideal, especially in a large global corporate environment

Annual base salary for this position ranges from $97,901 to $128,495. AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
