Position Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will join the Medical Affairs Department, supporting the Hematology (Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria) and Nephrology (Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) therapeutic areas.

The MSL will be responsible for implementing regional scientific activities across the assigned territory (Andalusia, Extremadura, part of Castilla-La Mancha, Canary Islands, and the Basque Country). This is a field-based position requiring significant travel (approximately 60–75%).

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Medical Affairs

  • Act as the scientific expert and liaison between the company and the medical community.

  • Disseminate up-to-date scientific data and materials to healthcare professionals (HCPs), including physicians and hospital pharmacists.

  • Deliver scientific presentations at regional meetings, hospital clinical sessions, and pharmacy departments.

  • Support company-sponsored medical education programs (agenda development, presentation preparation/review, and scientific briefing of speakers).

  • Ensure all scientific interactions are accurately documented in the designated reporting system.

KOL & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

  • Support KOLs in clinical development initiatives, publications, and other scientific projects.

  • Serve as the primary scientific reference for the medical community within the assigned territory.

  • Facilitate high-quality communication between healthcare professionals and internal company stakeholders.

Clinical & Internal Collaboration

  • Oversee and support local clinical studies conducted within the territory.

  • Provide scientific responses to inquiries from healthcare professionals and internal colleagues.

  • Contribute to training initiatives and support the commercial team when needed.

  • Actively participate in internal meetings and scientific training sessions.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific developments in the relevant therapeutic areas.

Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in strict accordance with company compliance policies and industry regulations.

  • Work collaboratively across departments, maintaining transparent and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine or Health Sciences (advanced degree preferred).

  • Fluent English (written and spoken) – mandatory.

  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.

  • Business-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent relationship-building and organizational skills.

  • High availability to travel nationally (60% or more).
