Step into the dynamic world of Alexion Pharmaceuticals as a Regional Account Manager, where you'll be at the forefront for our Neurology and NF1 portfolio. Based in Sydney, this role is pivotal in maintaining Alexion's presence in rare disease across NSW. As an expert in therapeutic areas and product knowledge, you'll focus on promoting products to healthcare providers while cultivating influential commercial relationships.

This is an initial 6-month maximum term contract role working part-time based in Sydney covering neurologists from Sydney to Newcastle including regional areas when required.

What you’ll do

  • Achieve sales objectives in your assigned region, ensuring accurate and timely tracking and reporting of sales activities.

  • Develop and maintain strategic account-specific business plans, considering local market forces that may impact product sales.

  • Demonstrate strong in-depth clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge in relevant disease states and product mechanisms of action, with a focus on Neurology/NF1 portfolio.

  • Identify and develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within your territory through effective promotion of products in the Alexion portfolio as required.

  • Implement local promotional activities and programs for therapy areas, including development and briefing of speakers for promotional educational meetings.

  • Liaise with cross-functional medical and marketing teams to develop long-term relationships and advocacy with KOLs, healthcare provider accounts, and other appropriate external customers.

Essential for the role

  • Strong Key Account Management (KAM) experience

  • Experience working in a competitive environment

  • Product launch experience  

  • Collaborative work style with sales team and medical professionals; strong self-awareness of strengths.

  • Experience in neurology and infused/injected products highly regarded. Sales experience in rare disease preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience effectively working autonomously as well as interdependently.

  • Proven experience developing strong, professional networks for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers and in academic environments.

Desirable for the role

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience

  • Exposure to working with digital channels and thinking outside the box.

  • Current, valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
