We are offering Apprenticeships within our Global Procurement team. Procurement at AstraZeneca is critical to enabling AstraZeneca to deliver life-changing medicines across the world. We are a central player in delivering our company’s ambitious targets on Sustainability, driving 100% ethical spend and enabling our Ambition Zero Carbon target.
You'll be working with procurement professionals managing a wide range of categories all of which have a pivotal role in driving the competitive advantage of AstraZeneca as a company.
During this potential 22-month program, you'll have the opportunity to experience the full procurement lifecycle including building a category strategy, sourcing and contracting, managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement whilst also enhancing the skills and behaviours needed for success. Over the 22-months, you will have the opportunity to rotate across the various Procurement teams including, Operations, Research & Development, Commercial and IT Procurement. Giving you incredible insight into the many different areas of the AstraZeneca business and Procurement team.
You might be searching for the right supplier to manufacture a new diagnostic device; you may then work with an established provider to review the ways of working to look for opportunities to automate processes, reduce operating costs or expedite timelines. All in a truly global environment.
Training and Development
The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time learning (on average 1 day/week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/commercial-procurement-and-supply-formerly-public-sector-commercial-professional/with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs Grades 9-4 including minimum 4 grade in Maths and English.
To have achieved or predicted to achieve a minimum of 3 A-level (grades CCC) or equivalent (96 UCAS points)

This is a 22-month fixed term contract opportunity based at Macclesfield with a starting base salary of £21,500 + 11% benefits fund + bonus.
At AstraZeneca, we aim to set you up for success and we recognise the challenges that starting a new job can bring. We therefore offer a relocation package to help with the costs and process of moving for candidates who currently live more than 60 minutes from the site location for this Apprenticeship.
