3PS (Third Party Supply) Finance Business Partner

The Third Party Supply (3PS) organisation at AstraZeneca is a specialised group within AZ Operations, managing contractual supply agreements with external partners. We handle the transition of regulatory authorisation from AstraZeneca to our partners, ensuring seamless operations. Accountabilities
- Manage all financial contractual commitments in external supply relationships.
- Oversee all financial aspects of the deal/customer, including credit risk and P&L reporting and forecasting.
- Proactively solve problems and develop pragmatic solutions to ensure continuity of supply while maintaining customer relationships and protecting AZ rights.
- Optimise price/cost/margin/cashflow for AZ, providing guidance for decision support and accounting considerations.
- Advise on supply agreement renegotiation, ensuring alignment with 3PS deal principles.
- Support Operations Business Development directors at pre-deal to ensure financial terms are aligned with 3PS deal principles.
- Act as SME on specific areas, leading improvement initiatives and embracing technology/AI to increase efficiency.
- Serve as a key delegate for Lead 3PS FBP across various areas, including minimising the impact of 3PS exits on Global Supply Chain network strategy.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Experience managing business collaborations and contract negotiations with external (non-AZ) third parties, demonstrated by establishing multi-year partnerships and resolving complex issues independently.
- Proven track record of providing financial guidance in pricing, cashflow, accounting and related matters, with examples of directly influencing business decisions (e.g., investment proposals, commercial strategies).
- Financial Metrics Acumen: Demonstrates an instinctive knowledge of business-critical metrics (revenue, COGS, margin, costs) and market dynamics (FX, inflation) by consistently delivering accurate, real-time financial insights and able to recall key figures without referencing materials.
- Hands on experience in manufacturing and supply chain accounting (including areas of technical accounting and tax) across global regions, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Proven ability to manage and influence partners at all levels through strong communication skills (internal/external, cross-function, cross-geography). Able to articulate complex situations in a simple way to influence and hold others accountable.
- Evidence of drive and quick-thinking approach, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, with examples of adapting approach to changing business needs and successfully preventing or minimising potential business impact.
- A track record of independently owning and regularly resolving high-impact problems end to end, resulting in successful implementation of pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to deliver accurate work quickly.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to lean/process improvement initiatives, and proficient use of digital/AI tools (eg. MS Co-Pilot, MS Agent Builder, AI Chatbots) that resulted in measurable time savings or efficiency gains.
- Holds a recognised professional finance/accounting qualification (eg. ACA, CIMA).
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience of Supply Chain management.
- Experience of product costing, pricing, credit management, transactional finance.
- Experience of business process management & financial controls.
