As a Value and Access Manager at AstraZeneca, you will co-lead the development of high-quality national and subnational strategies for in line and pipeline assets alongside Health Economics colleagues. As part of your responsibilities, you will partner with national HTA organizations, partners, and cross-functional teams to secure access and funding for our transformative medicines. Your expertise in the UK market access environment will be crucial in developing optimal access strategies and leading associated UK pricing strategies.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the delivery of HTA submissions, including strategy development and communication of risks and mitigation plans with collaborators
  • Represent AstraZeneca at public committee meetings and other HTA-associated meetings
  • Collaborate closely with Health Economics colleagues on strategy and execution of HTA submissions
  • Support delivery of subnational activities for inline brands and pipeline assets
  • Lead the development and coordination of responses to national guidelines and access policy consultations with cross functional team
  • Support and where appropriate lead delivery of market access activities relating to AstraZeneca’s pipeline assets
  • Establish effective ways of collaborating with cross-functional teams including UKMC, global partners, and customers
  • Foster positive relationships with global, regional, and UKMC customers to ensure HTA evidence requirements are met.
  • Inform UK pricing strategy for launch/in-line brands in collaboration with pricing colleagues
  • Maintain understanding of the NHS environment and policy changes impacting access and ensure compliance with all AstraZeneca and ABPI governance frameworks and policies

Essential Skills/Experience

  • First degree in life sciences, epidemiology or related field
  • More than 3 years healthcare, pharmaceutical industry or consultancy experience
  • Strong understanding of HTA needs and proven experience of developing and delivering high quality HTA submissions
  • Analytical clinical skills and conceptual understanding of evidence synthesis and outcomes research methodologies
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills with a wide range of collaborators
  • Demonstrable effective collaborator management and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable record of collaborative working, and personal delivery to agreed timelines
  • Excellent understanding of UK healthcare environment to ensure effective value arguments based on clinical and cost-effectiveness evidence at national and subnational level
  • Excellent understanding of priorities of collaborators and partners outside the company
  • Demonstrable project management skills

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Post graduate degree in Health Economics, life sciences, epidemiology or related field
  • Experience of managing external supplier and/or customer relationship
  • Excellent understanding of/experience working in the NHS
  • Technical Health Economics experience
