Join us at AstraZeneca as an Engineering Planner/CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) SME at the Liverpool manufacturing facility. In this role, You will be the Business Process and System owner for the site CMMS, the role involves effectively planning functional activities and continuously optimising system content, usage, and reporting. You must be a well-organised and an effective communicator. You will work with internal customer planning teams to ensure that work is planned in line with operational requirements. The role also involves planning and organising non-routine maintenance activities, including shutdowns, and scheduling, and coordinating resources (both internal and external).

Responsibilities:

This role is pivotal to the coordinating , updating and configuration of CMMS master data. You will take ownership of the site's CMMS, ensuring optimal content, usage, and system development. You will be responsible for coordinating all site departments sequencing and scheduling activities to ensure they are in support of the integrated schedule, the site supply plan, and the franchise delivery plans. You will also lead and participate in relevant projects such as SAP system upgrades. Your role will involve working closely with members of the Engineering function and site internal planned network to optimize functional planning to help ensure engineering compliance (legislative and cGMP) and optimal equipment availability and OEE. You will also collaborate closely with external service providers to facilitate special maintenance activities.

Additional responsibilities:

Responsible for and own all actions to deliver high performance in the role and to ensure commitments made by the organisation and to colleagues are always delivered.

Comply with required standards including documentation, good housekeeping, cGMP, health and safety, timekeeping, regulatory legislative requirements and in accordance with the rules and requirements of the GMP Compliance Rulebook, the Code of Conduct, quality manual and any other company policies and procedures.

Ensure Engineering Excellence is integrated into the team’s responsibilities. This should include adopting a philosophy of continuous improvement and a “Right First Time from Me” attitude to all operations.

Coach and develop the staff responsible for departmental scheduling activities to develop the sites planning capabilities at a local level.

Escalate issues, conflicts constraints to management/senior management in a timely fashion including a summary of the impact of issues. Perform “what if” scenarios to facilitate management decision-making.

Facilitate functional planning meetings to include but not limited to reviewing and prioritising both planned and unscheduled activities to meet functional KPIs and reporting requirements.

Optimise functional activities, schedules, PM content and associated SOP’s utilising Lean, TPM and Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques.

Proactively collaborate with functional Stores Co Ordinator and external stores service provider ensuring that critical spare parts are available prior to work commencement and ensure records are maintained within SAP.

Proactive collaboration with other Global CMMS Business Process Owners to develop appropriate reporting and continued development CMMS KPI’s, best practice and system development, alignment to the AstraZeneca Total Production Maintenance model.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Formal apprenticeship, with qualifications to an ONC/HNC/ degree level.
  • Experience in the development and administration of a CMMS / SAP Platform within a regulated industry, and have underpinned engineering knowledge. The analysis of CMMS data to identify trends to the benefit of the development of the best practice in planned maintenance activities. Knowledge of Change Control systems
  • Proven planning experience in pharmaceutical, biological, or related industries.
  • People management experience of controlling visiting contractors, safe working methods and practices, the use of Permit to Work systems, including the reviewing of methods and associated risk assessments.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate with significant independence with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Experience in leading relevant projects e.g. SAP system upgrades.
  • Experience in coordinating the update and configuration of CMMS master data.
