ROLE SUMMARY

  • Responsible for execution of AstraZeneca’s Market Access strategy. The incumbent will be responsible to oversee regional patient access operations, key account relations, tender planning & proceeding and other procurement streams pertaining to AZ portfolio. Additionally, while active in the field will manage to develop and sustain long lasting relationships with relevant stakeholders within key client organizations.
  • Based in Islamabad, Pakistan

What you’ll do

Market Access

  • Successfuly execute AZ‘s market access strategy that ensure our products are accessible to patients, payers and health care providers aligned with overall business strategy for Pakistan.
  • Identify, build, map and maintain strong business relationships with key decision makers, relevant stakeholders and influencers.
  • Plan, manage and execute product related access flows in an organization from inception till the execution of the process.
  • While being active in the field, identify business opportunities in the market to expand access to AZ medicines.

Patient Affordability Program:

  • Ensure that patient affordability programs adhere to all relevant AZ regulations, standards and internal governance policies – Implement strong governance and corrective measures accordingly.
  • Ensure responding back to the queries put forth by all internal and external stakeholders regarding the AZ patient affordability programs.
  • Identify, report and troubleshoot any deviations from AZ policies. 
  • Ensure introduction, initiation and operability of AZ patient affordability programs at all major institutions of the designated territory.

Institutions, Tenders & Key Account Management:

  • Supervise, manage and conclude end to end procurement processes.
  • Identify, map & manage major accounts and stakeholders through active presence in the field.
  • Develope strong relationships with key stakeholders & influencers in Key Accounts through active presentation on behalf of AZ.
  • Overseeing institutional pricing, tender management and procurement channels, ensure the availability of AZ medicines in an organization.
  • Identify relevant procurers and ensure AZ participation through submission of requisite technical and financial documents completely aligned with AstraZeneca’s internal policies, processes and guidelines.
  • Gain necessary AZ approvals and coordinate with internal stakeholders in the arrangement of requisite documents and approvals.
  • Coordinate with the distributors and third parties for timely supplies, invoice submisisons and payment related issues.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build relationships with key internal / external clients.
  • Develop and implement plans for stakeholders’ development & engagement in alignment with Business Manager & Manager Market Access Pakistan.

Corporate Responsibility:

  • Maintain highest ethical standards and work in a spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules & norms set by corporate policies.
  • Ensure that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.
  • Timely report (as per respective procedures): health/environment/wellbeing related accidents; adverse events that you became aware about; change in status of your Conflict of Interest.

Note: This role requires approximately 70% travel to various field locations conducting Key Accounts and Access related activities.

Essential for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required (business administration or a similar field preferred).
  • More than 2 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Market Access and Key Accounts Management.
  • Strong performance track record
  • Demonstrated strong oral, written and group communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills – Influencing, negotiation, collaboration and team work
  • Effective analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making
  • Planning and organization skills

Desirable for the role:

  • Strong commercial background
  • Previous experience in different functional areas of the business
