Senior Marketing Manager, Congress, GPO/P2P - Breast Cancer

The Senior Marketing Manager, Congress / P2P / GPO will operationalize TRUQAP and ETCAMAH brand strategy through congress, peer-to-peer, group purchasing organization, and compliant field resource strategy and execution. This role will lead the planning, development, approval, deployment, and optimization of promotional materials and engagement initiatives that improve HCP engagement, support appropriate demand generation, and translate brand strategy into practical field use within the brand’s labeled indications.

The role is responsible for executing and optimizing compliant HCP engagement initiatives, including speaker program content, congress activations, advisory board support, GPO-related materials, field resources, and competitive pull-through updates. This individual will partner closely with the broader brand teams and cross-functional colleagues across Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Sales, Training, Market Access, Finance, Procurement, Insights, Analytics, and external agency and vendor partners to ensure strategic alignment, operational excellence, audit readiness, and high-quality execution.

This position reports to the US Head of Marketing, TRUQAP, with a dotted-line relationship to the US Head of Marketing, ETCAMAH.

This position is based in Gaithersburg, MD in the Washington, DC metro area, home to AstraZeneca’s US Oncology Business Unit. The Gaithersburg campus offers a collaborative environment designed to support a variety of working styles and foster strong cross-functional teamwork. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and execution for TRUQAP and ETCAMAH congress, peer-to-peer, speaker program, GPO, and compliant field resource initiatives in alignment with brand priorities.

  • Develop, refresh, and optimize 2026 P2P and congress promotional materials and messaging, including congress assets, HCP/APP speaker decks, hot-topic leave-behinds, GPO advisory board materials, and related field resources.

  • Drive competitive pull-through updates across P2P, congress, and field materials based on emerging data, market shifts, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs.

  • Lead speaker program content strategy and development, ensuring materials are strategically aligned, compliant, and ready for field use.

  • Coordinate advisory board planning and content alignment, including moderator support, material development, stakeholder alignment, and logistics collaboration in support of brand strategy and scientific exchange.

  • Lead congress and event activation planning, including brand strategy, congress branding placement, promotional content development, and field pull-through across key Oncology congresses.

  • Manage MLR/Veeva review cycles, including submissions, comment resolution, approvals, and asset readiness to support timely execution while maintaining compliance and audit readiness.

  • Steward budgets and procurement processes, including purchase order creation, amendments, accruals, vendor estimates, and reallocation of resources to priority initiatives while maintaining fiscal discipline.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Medical, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Sales Operations, Training, Market Access, Insights, Analytics, and external agencies to streamline workflows, resolve operational challenges, and ensure strategic alignment.

  • Manage agencies and vendors to ensure clear deliverables, strong quality, timeline discipline, and effective execution across congress, P2P, GPO, and field resource initiatives.

  • Drive process improvement by identifying workflow enhancements, exploring automation opportunities, and broadening access to compliant resources that support consistent and effective field engagement.

  • Contribute to team culture through trust, open communication, accountability, curiosity, inclusion, and collaboration.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare marketing, commercial, field engagement, agency, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related environments.

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field.

  • Experience developing or managing HCP promotional resources, speaker program content, congress assets, peer-to-peer materials, advisory board content, GPO resources, or other field-facing materials in a regulated environment.

  • Strong understanding of promotional material developmentMLR/Veeva review processes, compliance requirements, and cross-functional approval workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategy, market research, field feedback, competitive intelligence, and customer insights into actionable promotional resources and field communications.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, review cycles, budgets, vendors, and agency deliverables with urgency and accountability.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain the rationale behind promotional materials and support compliant field use.

  • Proven ability to influence agency partners, MLR reviewers, and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Marketing, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Sales, Training, Market Access, Finance, Insights, Analytics, and agency partners.

  • Ability to operate with curiosity, agility, critical thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset in a fast-moving and competitive oncology environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Knowledge of TRUQAP or experience in breast cancer indications.

  • Oncology marketing experience, particularly in solid tumors, breast cancer, prostate cancer, precision medicine, diagnostics, or biomarker-driven treatment markets.

  • Experience leading congress strategy, speaker programs, P2P initiatives, advisory boards, GPO engagement, field resource development, or competitive pull-through execution.

  • Experience supporting launch readiness, competitive defense, message optimization, field insight gathering, and sales training partnership.

  • Familiarity with agencies and vendors supporting congress, P2P, GPO, MLR review, media, and promotional content execution.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $151,200- $226 840. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
