Global Commercial Head, Cell Therapy

Within the AstraZeneca Cell Therapy Enterprise, our ambition is to realize the full potential of cell therapy for people living with cancer, immune-mediated and rare diseases around the world. This unit has responsibility for the value chain from discovery through to late-stage development and commercialization. We are rapidly progressing a broad pipeline of cell therapies in collaboration with AstraZeneca’s Therapeutic Area Units.
The Role:
Reporting to the VP, Cell Therapy Enterprise Strategy and Commercial, the Global Commercial Head is a key role for our ambitious Cell Therapy expansion – a field that comes with highly diverse and significant scientific and commercial opportunity. Our commitment to creating a leading Cell Therapy portfolio franchise has been shown with our continued investment in this space and creation of a new unit.
We are determined to create a leading Cell Therapy portfolio in the years ahead, driving successful worldwide access and commercialization for our leading medicine AZD0120, and later across our autologous, allogeneic, and in vivo platforms.

Your mainAccountabilities and tasks:
You are accountable for Cell Therapy’s commercial strategy and its success.
You develop, shape, evolve, and implement resources and programs to support the full range of commercial lifecycle deliverables
You work with core markets to prepare for / deliver on all Cell Therapy commercialization and launch programs
You build and shape capabilities in global and in markets to drive state-of-the-art commercialization
You contribute to the broader Therapeutic Area strategies across Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases, Hematology, and Rare diseases
You represent Cell Therapy business perspectives to cross functional teams, senior executives and governance committees, ensuring that commercialization priorities are appropriately considered.
You will expand and manage the global commercial team for Cell Therapies
You collaborate with the Strategy and Commercial extended team to deliver a sustainable pricing and access strategy for all cell therapy indications
You contribute actively to advancing, accelerating, and simplifying our working and partnering models and processes towards maximum value creation for patients, healthcare, societies, and AstraZeneca
Your education, knowledge and experience
Undergraduate scientific background. Medical and/or PhD / MBA preferred
10+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience
Profound understanding of drug development and commercialization in Cell Therapy
Solid grasp of ongoing paradigm changes and future trends in healthcare commercialization
Proven track record of experience / accountability for business success in a major healthcare market
Broad commercial experience with proven track record of key commercialization deliveries (e.g. pre-launch / launch / HTA validation / long term business planning and business case development)
Strong strategic thinking, judgement and influencing skills
Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short- and long-term needs, constructively resolve issues, integrate cross functional contributions
Proven experience and knowledge of a broad base of external partners and customers including patients, prescribers, payors, providers and in/out license partners.
Strong understanding of key commercialization and marketing skill sets
P&L Management
Experienced with key global regulations in the field of Healthcare and Medical compliance and commercialization as well as Pharmacovigilance
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $270,224 to $405,332. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
