Director, Portfolio Planning and Analytics

Join our Early Oncology Global Projects Team within Oncology R&D, where we are responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of the solid tumor oncology portfolio. As the Director, Portfolio Planning and Analytics, you will report directly to the VP Global Projects. You will lead the analysis and visualization of the early oncology portfolio, navigating multiple diverse team members and thinking strategically about key issues affecting R&D operations. This role requires a high degree of influencing skills and independent thinking!

Accountabilities

Portfolio Management

  • Regularly engage Early Oncology and ORD senior leadership on behalf of the early projects team; coordinate across Early Oncology functions to deliver cross-functional initiatives
  • Synthesize Early Oncology specific portfolio data and strategy needed for decision making and information sharing
  • Develop portfolio tracking metrics and analytics; manage enterprise-wide tools, including determining appropriate visualization and archival tools
  • Support LTP/MTP through developing portfolio targets; forecasting volumes including breakdown by key characteristics to deliver expert function planning
  • Lead internal workstreams in close collaboration with other members of the Leadership Team; collaborate with broad functional teams across the early and late-stage oncology organization

Functional Team Management

  • Manage the Global Project planning and internal engagements, including strategic management of team meetings, F2F events, engaging with external speakers
  • Functional scorecard development and monitoring, highlighting risks to the team and assisting in preparation of quarterly scorecard reports
  • Track functional budget and CO2; provide forecast to support Annual Business Cycle planning
  • Manage information across data platforms
  • Identify and implement Development programs for Global Projects Team
  • Support hiring and execution of the secondment program
  • Support internal team communications and announcements

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of oncology and drug development process
  • Experience in resource planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Experience in portfolio management
  • Ability to communicate trends from large volumes of data
  • Strong communications skills and ability to effectively network across global functions
  • Ability to act independently, decisively & manage complex processes
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with demonstrated ability to influence across an organization.
  • Must demonstrate high integrity

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • PhD or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience in management consulting or other client service role
  • Experience with strategic planning and project management
  • Experience in Oncology drug development within a large pharmaceutical company
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerBI or other portfolio modelling and visualization tools

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $151,476.00 to $227,214.00.Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
