Associate Director, Publications, Early Vaccines + Immune Therapies

Accountabilities:

TheAssociate Director, Publications,isaccountablefor the development and execution of strategicpublication plans forpipeline productsentering and already in early clinical development (preclinical, translational,medicalevidence, and clinicalup to Phase 2).In this role,theAssociate Directorneedsa strategic mindset andscientific curiosity to effectively collaborate withcross-functional teams andexternal stakeholders including scientists, investigators, journal editors, and conference committees to execute publication activities.TheAssociate Directorwillhave the opportunity to lead cross-functional publication planning teams,ensuring publications plans align to the product strategy, while ensuringall publicationsrepresentatransparent and fair balanced communicationof data

  • Lead cross-functional publicationsplanningteamsand day-to-day management ofmultiple assignedpublication plans

  • Ensure project alignment with product strategy / scientific narrative and communications objectives

  • Advisescientific teamson preclinical, translational, clinical, and medical evidencestudies on publication aspects throughout study planning and execution

  • Participate in product, clinical and medical team committees, delivering publication updates as needed 

  • Manage responsible products’ publication plan-related financial forecasting and tracking

  • Manage the output,complianceand budget of medical communication agencies 

  • Ensure compliance with AZ / external publication standards and transparency requirements

  • Manage, track and document publications appropriately and accurately usingpublication management system 

  • Drive adoption of new publication guidelines,standardsand technologies

Essentialrequirements

  • Demonstrated experience(3–5years)in medical communications gained through working in the pharmaceutical industry or a medical communications agency

  • Bachelor’s degreein thebiological or health sciences

  • Familiarity withthedrug developmentprocess, Good Publications Practice,ICMJE recommendations,and thepeer-reviewedpublication process

  • Excellent project management skills to delivermultiple parallel projectsin a complex multidisciplinary environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills


Desirablerequirements

  • Post-doctoraldegree in the biological or health sciences, or equivalent experience

  • Curiosity and ability to seek new understanding in scientific data and methodological innovations

  • Experience of working globally, cross-culturally and cross-functionally

  • CMPPcertification

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $150,000 to $225,000 [TAq Partner will express compensation range as 80% - 120% of the role’s MRP, either as an annual base pay or as the hourly rate (annual salary divided by 2080 hours)]. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
