Director, Alliance Lead - CLP

This is what you will do:

Central labs play a key role in clinical trial delivery. The HBS Alliance team are accountable for the oversight and delivery of the central labs across the AstraZeneca Portfolio.

As Alliance Lead, you will play a vital role in driving successful partnerships with at least one of AstraZeneca’s Central Lab partners. You will ensure effective collaboration, operational excellence, and strong communication to support clinical trial delivery. By building trusted relationships, handling risks, and upholding rigorous compliance and ethical standards, you will help maximise the performance and impact of these key partners in delivering against expectations.

You will be responsible for:

Operational Partnership Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations and performance for at least one of the three Central Lab partners within the HBS partnership model, ensuring delivery, risk management, and escalation as needed.
• Participate in any business continuity meetings for challenges that impact central lab delivery

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and implement the communication plan for your assigned partner(s), serving as the main operational contact for all related communications. Colaborating with the team for cross-model communication.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Track alliance performance metrics for your partner(s), share insights, and support continuous improvement in coordination with the Alliance Leader and Performance and Standards Lead.

Governance, Meetings, and Documentation

• Organise and document meetings, maintain alliance records, and ensure timely follow-up on decisions and actions.

Compliance and Process Excellence

• Ensure compliance with GCP and all relevant regulations, proactively promote process improvement and capability development, and lead management of any quality issues.

Decision Support and Prioritisation

• Support effective prioritisation and provide operational input to keep partnership activities aligned with strategic goals.

Additional Alliance Oversight

• Contribute to alliance oversight for smaller or emerging partners and assist with onboarding or governance as needed.

You will need to have:

• Experience in clinical trial operations or alliance management, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sectors.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with clear evidence of building strong stakeholder relationships.
• Strong organisational, operational, and project management capabilities.
• Applied knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other relevant regulations and standards.
• Analytical and data interpretation skills to support operational improvements and reporting.
• Proactive, collaborative, and ethical approach to working with cross-functional and partner teams.
• Strong sense of integrity, adaptability, and continuous learning mindset.
