Strategic Field Operations (SFO) is the next exciting GBS expansion into field operations. This newly formed GBS team represents a coordinated effort withGCO to develop an inhouse alternative to a previously vendor led service, initially serving the US market with intent to expand globally in the future. Strategically shifting SFO services inhouse over time will help enable the company’s vision by freeing up time and resources, protecting AZ value and providing a path to new capabilities.

About the role

Job Summary:

We seek a dynamic and experienced PowerBI Solution Owner with strong business acumen to join our newly formed Field Reporting Service Team. This team supports the US BBU (Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit) Strategic Field Operations (SFO) department and AZ's US BBU Field Force for their Reporting & Analytics needs.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in PowerBI development and implementation, with at least 6 years of relevant experience. As a Solution Owner, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of PowerBI solutions to meet the needs of our business partners.

Essential qualifications include a robust understanding of the pharmaceutical sales industry, coupled with exceptional operational and technical skills in data/analytics & Business Intelligence. Responsibilities include interpreting evolving SFO needs, gathering requirements, translating them into technical terms, and collaborating with the Field Reporting Service Team to develop and oversee technology solutions addressing business challenges.

The candidate must excel in interpreting field data, deriving business insights, and offering strategic recommendations. These insights will drive decisionmaking, streamline sales operations, and elevate overall business performance for various AZ brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of PowerBI projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and support.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.

  • Design and develop PowerBI reports, dashboards, and data models to address business needs.

  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of PowerBI solutions.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including PowerBI developers and data analysts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our business partners regarding PowerBI projects, addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Stay up to date on the latest PowerBI features and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT professionals, to integrate PowerBI solutions into existing systems and processes.

  • Conduct user training and provide ongoing support to ensure the successful adoption of PowerBI solutions

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business, or related field

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in PowerBI development and implementation.

  • Strong proficiency in PowerBI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and data visualization best practices.

  • Experience with data modeling and data warehouse concepts.

  • Proven track record of delivering highquality PowerBI solutions on time and within budget.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proficient, with 2+ years of recent experience in data analysis tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, AWS (Amazon Web Services), Databricks & ETL is highly desirable

  • Proficient with syndicated and custom, primary, and secondary data, with inferential analysis and ability to identify insights from data

  • Direct experience with Pharma sales performance and sales execution data sets (e.g. IQVIA, eLAAD, Xponent, Veeva CRM)

  • Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional and international teams

  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment of effective business partnership as demonstrated by business impact and ability to influence others

  • Ability to derive, summarize and communicate insights from analyses

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of internal customers' data and analytical needs focusing on the customerfacing model leadership

  • Champion the use of local customer insight in strategic and resourcing decisions across the business

  • Collaborate with US Strategic Field Operations to ensure success of key business processes and coordination on joint initiatives

  • Identify and prioritize enhancements and new analytic capabilities

  • Develop innovative analytical practices to create and sustain competitive advantage

  • Capability in applying deeper technical skills and knowledge that is shared across the functional area (e.g., deep knowledge of key data sets, modeling capabilities, etc.)

  • Ability to distill complex concepts into simple frameworks which are easy to understand

  • Monitors the external environment to stay up to date on leading analytic capabilities, both within and outside of pharma, which can be applied within the organization

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a substantial number of business stakeholders and crossfunctional business partners

  • Effective communication and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to develop and effectively present succinct, compelling reviews of independently developed analyses infused with insight and business implications/actions to be considered

  • Strategic and critical thinking with the ability to engage, build and maintain credibility with Commercial Leadership Team

  • Knowledge of AZ brand and science is highly desirable
