AstraZeneca is looking for a dynamic Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to support and help build its AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Join us in our mission to transform our ability to develop life-changing medicines by leveraging cutting-edge technology and data.
Accountabilities
As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will be working in the “Automate and Orchestrate” team (A&O), which aims to provide enterprise-grade self-service automation capabilities in a secure, observable, and scalable way. The A&O team is part of the DataOps team, which focuses on enabling engineers to process and transform data through ETL pipelines, providing services to orchestrate and automate any type of process, enhancing and supporting existing underlying technologies (AWS, Talend, Jenkins, DataKitchen…), and working with Data Engineering teams to implement reusable patterns and self-service. You will have the opportunity to design the building blocks of the AWS Infrastructure that will support its services. This is a rare chance to see, learn, and contribute to the foundation of our AWS Cloud solution.
Essential Skills/Experience
Experience working on Linux/Windows-based infrastructure.
Experience working on Infrastructure As Code (Cloudformation, Terraform, Ansible…).
Experience with the following AWS services: EC2, ECS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC.
Exposure to AWS Cloud Engineering and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions…).
Good understanding of AWS networking and security configuration.
Good knowledge of bash scripting.
Good Knowledge of SQL.
Proficient with Git (Github, Bitbucket …).
Proficient with at least one of these programming languages: Python, Groovy, Java.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Exposure to scalable and HA (High Availability) architectures.
Exposure to noSQL technologies, such as Mongo DB, Dynamo DB.
Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
Experience writing automated tests (Unit) and improving code quality.
Exposure to Kubernetes cluster administration.
Exposure to AWS services such as EFS, SQS, RDS, Service Catalog, Secret Manager, Cost Management.
Employ monitoring, alerting and self-healing during design and development.
Exposure to Vault secrets manager.
