The Axial Programme  (Global S/4HANA implementation)

The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.

The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes.  This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

The S/4HANA Data Design Lead – Order to Invoice is responsible for coordinating all business data requirements within the S/4 HANA design process, along with defining and documenting the S/4 Enterprise Data Standards and ensuring that existing SAP ECC data is mapped appropriately at the point of migration to S/4 HANA.

The role is aligned to the Enterprise Process Owner (EPO) Order & Distribution to Cash (O&DTC) and is responsible for owning the relationship between the S/4 Data and Analytics organization and the EPO, and proactively engaging with the wider business (including data offices and governance forums) to ensure that the S/4 data design meets business requirements and aligns to SAP standard as much as possible.

What you’ll do

  • Define, document, and implement S/4 Enterprise Data Standards for Order & Distribution to Cash (ODTC), covering master data, reference data, and metadata within the established data governance framework. This includes creating conceptual models, business glossaries, and ontologies, and securing necessary approvals.
  • Apply data and process expertise to support S/4 process design, acting as an integral part of the ODTC EPO design team, considering both business process and analytics requirements.
  • Own relationship with current business data capability to ensure that S/4 design and the wider enterprise data design remain aligned (including supporting interim state during global roll out).
  • Lead the transition from current to future state data design, performing change impact assessments and defining key use cases.
  • Define and manage the reporting on progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the development of S/4 Data Governance Strategy and Roadmap in partnership with business data offices and the S/4 Data & Analytics leadership team.
  • Contribute to developing the S/4 Data Quality Strategy and its execution within ODTC EPO by establishing and overseeing robust data quality approaches, enabling effective data migration and ongoing data management post-deployment.
  • Contribute to the development of the S/4 Cleanse and Migrate strategy and execution.
  • Define AS-IS to to-be data mapping and support the data migration technical spec
  • Where relevant, perform data collection from business source and support the business with the data management processes in the To-be world.
  • Provide support to project data migration processes, including the co-ordination of pre and post load business sign off.
  • Ensure that data within ODTC complies with the S/4 HANA Data Governance Framework and AZ Global Data Standards.
  • Assist the S/4 Data Governance team in establishing global procedures for managing data assets throughout its lifecycle.

Essential for the role

  • SAP Professional with 10+years of experience and broad subject matter expertise in Order & Distribution to Cash (ODTC) processes and related data concepts including Order management, credit management, invoicing & billing, pricing/rebate/discount, customer management, account receivables process.
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of at least one area within Order to Cash and the enhanced functionality in S/4 Hana in the area, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to business users.
  • Experience of designing and implementing standard SAP solutioning (preferably in S/4 HANA) in relevant O&DTC space for a global enterprise with significant geographical and functional footprint.
  • Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a diverse, global team, within and across functions. Experience with global working and across cultures.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
  • Ability to lead and manage negotiations across a complex group, to a target outcome.
  • Proven track record of delivery and ability to effectively prioritise to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills.

Desirable for the role

  • S/4 HANA implementation programme experience. 
  • Hands on working in Fiori apps in the Order to Cash area
  • Knowledge of S/4 HANA functionality of Collection Management and Credit Management in FSCM
  • Experience or Exposure to S/4 Hana Data Migration Cockpit
  • Exposure to how Vistex works with SAP
  • Experience in life sciences and healthcare – Commercial & supply chain processes.
  • Experience in Data Governance
  • Experience in measuring, managing and improving Data Quality.
