The Operational Transfer Pricing team are responsible for managing and developing systems and processes to ensure appropriate recharges of R&D spend across AZ Legal entities.
The R&D and Deals Integration Senior Manager will be responsible for managing the R&D recharge process, working with upstream and downstream stakeholders to ensure its accuracy and its timely execution. The individual will work closely with deals, strategy, and finance teams to design and implement the necessary changes to keep the R&D recharge model up to date as the portfolio grows.
Reporting is at the core of what we do in OTP and the individual will be responsible for ensuring appropriate output to meet our Finance and Tax reporting statutory obligations.
This role is suitable for a financial professional used to working with systems and complex data sets, with a strong analytical mind, and attention to detail. Experience of working in a regulatory environment and/or knowledge of transfer pricing would also be of benefit.
You will become an SME with responsibility for the R&D Recharge and the downstream regulatory reporting needs.
You will bring an inquiring mind and personable approach to the role demonstrating strong inter-personnel skills and ability to interact with a wide range of business stakeholders to both coordinate the adoption, execution, and explanation of R&D positions and create real value for the organization.
The OTP Senior Manager is expected to perform at expert level in the following:
R&D process execution - Become a subject matter expert on R&D recharge calculations, able to perform, review, and comment on positions
Deliver Reporting – Understand the P&L and R&D positions sufficiently to deliver analysis for Finance and tax reporting purposes
Stakeholder Analysis & Change – Support key stakeholder relationships in Finance, Strategy & Deals, and Tax.
Change Management – Be able to define requirements of changes in portfolio or new deals on our systems and process and manage their adoption
Training and Documentation – Maintain documentation, training, and controls
Work collaboratively with
Tax team and R&D Finance to ensure that OTP R&D processes comply with core design principles Finance Controllers to support review and approval of R&D positions Group Finance and Tax reporting teams in the coordination and execution of regulatory reporting needs IT teams in their execution of system and data preparation, system change, and incident management
Essential
A Financial accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA equivalent)
Proven experience of a similar finance or tax role requiring detailed analysis of P&L positions
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data sources into simplified reports
Strong engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience of working in a regulated environment
Experience of virtual collaboration
Experience of working with cross functional teams

Experience of Tax and Transfer Pricing
Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge
