Communications Specialist, U.S. Corporate Affairs

This is what you will do:

The Communications Specialist, U.S. Corporate Affairs in partnership with the Head of U.S. Corporate Communications, will primarily support communications for the Alexion U.S. Business. The person in this role will be responsible for a wide variety of content generation, alignment and approvals across internal and external channels. These communications may include employee messages, town hall content, graphic and video development.

You will be responsible for:

  • Drafting communications about a variety of topics for the U.S. business, including memos, speeches, talking points, presentations, internal social media, PowerPoint decks, video scripts, external social posts, etc.
  • Content generation for the U.S. Commercial Workvivo Channel. This includes creating content drafts and managing the process, approvals, and postings on various topics. This individual will also pull through global campaigns and seasonal campaigns as appropriate.
  • Manages the logistics for quarterly town hall meetings, including meeting room setup, technology vendor coordination, speaker prep, rehearsals, logistics, slide design, onsite trouble shooting, live Q&A, etc.
  • Supports video communications for the U.S. business, including content creation, filming, light editing and finalizing approvals and posting of content.
  • Provides communications support for Boston Seaport site, including drafting messages for the Boston site engagement leader.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

You will need to have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in communications or related role
  • Strong writing, editing and proofing skills. Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Adobe Express, graphic design principles, and light video editing.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

We would prefer for you to have:

  • An educational and/or professional background in communications, journalism or marketing.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $87,000 to $131,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
